My JDM engine experience..

My JDM experience.

I did this in January. Bought it from Dallas JDM from Zoon who is the owner I believe.
As with most JDM engines you have to swap all of your US Spec components to the JDM spec.
I did a write up on this a while back try searching.
I was pleased with the motor but I also did a leak down check before I took it home to Austin.
Ive put about 6k miles on it so far and seems to have really good power. Maybe a bit more than the factory 215k mile engine in my 97' 5speed 4x4 locker.

I did this in may. Ordered a JDM here in NJ. My mechanic had to swap most everything over. Was a pain in the ass but it runs great.

I dealt with the same thing a few years ago after my crank pulley bolt backed out and ended up grinding down the end of my camshaft where the woodruff key goes. Think I paid $800ish for the motor. I already knew there would be some swapping...supercharger. It wasn't until we really got to looking at things that we noticed there was a lot more to be done. I think my buddies shop charged me $1500 for the R&R along with swapping out the S/C and other accessories. 70k miles later and it's still running like a champ!
