Out of curiosity, why didn't you just run a full skid between the crossmembers?

So far I haven't driven it much but I have not heard anything. Radio off and windows down - nothing. But... like I said to Singtoe earlier, if I get on some washboard road that might get the chain going. But in offroad circumstances it wouldn't bother me.

As far as how hard are the clamps? I dont' know. Like I said at the beginning this is mainly a visual detterent. Just like a club on a steering wheel. Really doesn't do much but slow them down so many seconds.

Cutting through the cat itself on the inside of the clamps or through the clamps itself will take longer than the thin exhaust pipe.
 
JUST WONDERING IF FULL SKID PLATE SET WILL PROTECT CATS?
MY TRUCK IS ALWAYS PARKED IN GARAGE EXEPT MY WORK PARKING LOT.
I HOPE THAT I WILL NEVER WALK ON THEIF, OTHERWISE I WILL BE arrested for sure,I hate those with no respect to someone else property.steel toe boots can do a lot of damage to human flesh.

It's not a sudden increase that got me to do this. It was Suprareal's thread that brought it to close to home for me.

Skidplates that I've seen may cover the cat partially but not completely. Oh and sawzalls will cut them too!
 
Just curious. Why didnt you just tack weld a section of chain to either side of the crossmember instead of wrapping it around? Kudos on making a dettterent.

That is a good idea too. I didn't really consider it. I was thinking that I wanted to be able to take it off so I didn't want to weld anything directly to the truck.

Then I guess best protection would be comprehensive insurance with low deductible., OR A pitbull chained to the vehicle , too bad I CANT JUST SHOOT THE THEIF.
 
i just wanna see the guys face when he gets under there, see's the chain... Maybe it would at least give him a change of heart and give you some respect.

That would just make it prettier in my opinion. Is that what you mean?This is just to make it so they can't cut the front of it and slide the cat out without taking the plate off. The plate we used Wasent long enough for that, we used just what we had around.

Nah pits are great dogs, if you don't mind ever, ever trusting your own pit off leash with other dogs ... for their entire life ... RIP Max :(

search you tube is full of pitbulls attacks.

i was thinking of guard dog whatever breed is, you overreacted.putbull or fugging chihuahuaI don`t care.
