Do you have/use foam gun? What do you think about them. I am thinking of getting one but around 60 bucks too pricey.

No I don't have a foam gun. $60 wouldnt be too bad but to get a good foaming set-up I believe you need a pressure washer first. The cheaper guns would connect to your standard garden hose and dont produce that real thick foam that sticks on the vehicle for minutes at a time.

My thoughts are that pre-soaking the vehicle via foam to loosen the dirt rather than grind it in with a sponge/mitt sounds great, but I havent bought into the idea of using a high powered pressure washer on the vehicles finish yet. The old school thinking was that a pressure washer would blast the dirt up against the paint and abrade it. I guess that is the idea behind foaming....to loosen the dirt and get alot of it to drip away on its own before blasting or touching the surface.

One thing i do know is that I really dont have the space to store a pressure washer in my tight garage, so I havent thought about going down that route too much at this point.

Looks really good but what took longer the detailing or the write-up

Lately I am finding that doing a thorough write up takes longer than the mod itself. I use notepad to code all my pages from scratch...the research, writing, coding, pic taking, linking, etc. takes a huge amount of time. I learned a lot back when I got my first 4R in 99 from reading others websites and what they did to their rigs. In return I do this and hope it will inspire others to document different mods they do, and myself as well as the 4R community as a whole can benefit from it. :bigok:

I see no mentioning of any grit gaurds used in the wash buckets.

Nice job and the pics look great. One final step for your 2007 would be to wipe down the tailpipe and spray it with some flat black spray paint. It's a perfect finishing touch to a job well done. I do my own twice per year (spring & fall) and it looks brand new.

Here is a recent pic. I still love Zaino and the shine and protection it provides. For me it lasts a very long time as well, though my rig is always parked inside.

I had finally finished up my Zaino goods and ordered some more Z2-Pro. I put on three coats. The one thing I dislike about the Z2 is that it is extremely hard to see the product on the vehicle and therefore it is hard to tell if you are getting even and ample coverage. Also, makes it difficult to tell that you removed it all. But doing three coats in succession ensures that any spots you missed on one will most likely get hit on the next.

I also purchased their Z16 Perfect Tire Gloss for my new tires. It is the first time I tried it. I really like that as well. Due to its watery consistency it goes on much easier than Meguires Endurance Gel and doesn't sling off like the Megs if you use too much.
