So my rig is goin through oil like crazy, but I figured out the problem and fixing it this weekend. Today, I was on the highway and I smelled anti-freeze :,( is there any common hoses that leak or go bad? I'm hoping it's a quick fix but I have class today so I'll have to wait till I get home, just wanted to pick yalls brains Before I enter my stage of depression from a broken rig.

Geesh.. it could be anything. Has it ever been rebuilt or remachined? I bet your seals and gaskets are going. If you smell coolant, it could be a head gasket.

Check your rear mains. Those love to dump oil.

I believe it was rebuilt around 250 but dang I'm hoping it's not a head gasket I dont feel like taking my engine apart. I'll snoop around after school ad update. Thanks for the info.

Ok if you already fixed the oil issue and dont have oil/antifreeze mixing then one common problem is the rear heater lines corroding and leaking. Take a look under the truck and check condition of those lines. If not then very likely a head issue.

Ball Park of where these bad buy are located? Like under the rig of course but under the skid or?? Near exhaust manny?

The rear coolant lines are located on the passenger side of the truck, about mid point, along the inside of the main frame rail.

Mine corroded and leaked, and I simply replaced the old metal lines with some black rubber lines and some hose clamps.

I had the same issue. I replaced the rear heater lines and didn't have a problem.

Thanks for the info and I'm hoping it's that, but im doubful since I have a Texas runner. (nothing to rust up the guts of my truck) but lets hope!!
