My long battle is almost over. My new T4R is on the way!!

Well, not exactly. The T4R that I special ordered at the beginning of November never came in. That's right, over 4 months waiting & I got nothing to show for it. (My entire soap opera can be found in this thread: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14224 )

So I went out & started searching on my own. I scoured through the Southeast region

Where do you find the public databases? I would love to get access to a list of all the available 4runners in the SoCal area. Was your list found online or through a dealer?

It looks like the inventory search is not available in Southern California. For my zip, it asks me to "build" my 4runner and then request a quote from a dealer. I put in Atlanta's zip just for testing purposes and was able to see the entire Southeast Toyota inventory.

Oh well!

That is what saved my bacon. Being in the Southeast, they have that database set up for the entire region. Neither Gulf States Toyota nor the Tennessee region (my two nearest regions) have this kind of setup. In the future, I won't special order like I did this time. I will simply go to a dealer, negotiate a price, and start searching for the closest match myself.

If I had know all of this back in November, I would have been in a brand new truck by New Years! :bash:

Thanks Derek. That is the kind of reassurance I need right now since white was not even in my top 3 color choices.

But the more I drive around Atlanta, the more I am seeing white SUVs & the more I am warming up to them.
