My neighbor has a 3rd Gen I want to buy

I actually have a regular park customer, they have owned their land bruiser since new, its a 99. its immaculate and dealer serviced since new.
they are old, I am old, but they are older
so we can bs a bunch on various topics.
I told them last year that I admired their bruiser.( well to them I did not call it a bruiser) the following visit it turned to ....(to me).how do you like your 4runner
then over time it became casual talk about Toyota 4 runners, bruisers, and semi off road stuff
about 6 months ago, I said if you ever think of selling your bruiser, let me know
the wife recently had a stroke, they came up to the park for a few nights for thanksgiving, we talked, I never brought up our vehicles.
when they left and turned the keys in to their cabin, he asked, so are you still interested in my land cruiser, I might be trading it in, you just have to beat the trade in.
I said yes...he said , well we will stay in touch

so we will see and I'm not sure I really want it anyway

but the moral of the story is........

be nice....be polite....don't be pushy...and casually bring it up..

you never know
