Finally drove the Rawhide Mining District Trail outside of Fallon, NV.

Was a 30 min drive to the trail head then the trail itself was around 55 miles, though we didnt do the last part due to no cell service and going off my nav, which doesn't show elevation nor terrain. None the less hit pretty much any type of trail desired between sand, loose and compact dirt, loose gravel, rocks, and some great inclines and declines. Nothing TE crazy (well there was a decent ascent that I wasnt thrilled about driving and a rock downslope that needed some spotting), but enough to let my LE get its 'rocks off' per say.

Thanks for posting pics, Poolzer! The most recent one of your LE infront of the rusted tank is the best pic of a SB Ive seen. Ive been dying to see more pics of the SB because most I see make the SB look so matte colored. Like a weird blue/grey matte finish. I want to see one in person! Someday Iraq will release its deathgrip on me...!

Thanks for that link. I've done several of those trails on my own but it's nice to have the guide as a backup.
We went out to Fairview Peak a month or 2 ago. It overlooks the Fallon bombing range just East of the Rawhide trail. Apparently the jets are allowed to fly supersonic thru there. Didn't see, or hear, any on our trip. The road up is easy for a 4runner and a great view. It's also 20 degress cooler in the Summer. The spot is known for its exposed faultline (fault scarps) from an earthquake in the 50's.
Don't forget to stock up on Liquor and Guns on your way back to town.:50cal:

Went back out today to do the last 1/2 of the trail I missed last time. Somehow over shot it by a good 2 miles last time, fun none the less! With the rain this last week there was some fun to had, but since I didnt go with anyone this time I stayed in pretty safe areas.

Just got my 15k mile service done (minus oil change) in Renton, was the 1st shoreline blue they had ever seen and raved like many others at the color. Even with the fun in Fallon, no scrapes mark ups or undercarriage damage, which is always great!

While I was there and looking through parts I saw they finally have the door edge guards for the 5th gen in, in same body color (of course no shoreline blue!) Mine will be here this week and will put them on next weekend. Was quoted $44 for the set and wil toss some pictures up if no one else has picked them up.

To top it off, a 5 hour detailing job inside and out was my early x-mas present (Ill be deployed during x-mas) and well needed and worth it. Knocked $75 off the total price for military and took just under the 5 hours and included a great leather treatment finish. Smells like new again, yay!

If you are in the Bellevue area, take your ride to Park Place Auto Spa. The place does an unbelievable quick detail, and in talking to the customers there, the complete services are even better. Had my paint protection film applied there as well. Good place. They work on lots of high end stuff, and really liked the Shoreline Blue.

Picked up the door guards (at night and its night now, so pictures will come..) $44 dollars for the 2 front doors and go from parallel of the bottom of the door handle to where the lower rough panel starts.

I was initially ticked off because it didnt come for all 4 doors and doesnt cover the entire door. $22/per is a bit of a rip off. They're metal and color matched to the 4runenr color. They do look good, just not happy that they dont cover the edge from top to bottom and the back doors dont come with them.

Also picked up the cargo net, which Im also not thrilled about since the entire bottom is open and stuff still slides out of the back after a long windy drive if there is nothing actually in the net.

But Ill keep em both as they did give me 30% off the price and will serve their basic purposes.

Well, there will be another Shoreline Blue Limited in that area within the next 30 days. Mine is on order and scheduled for delivery. Did you wax yours right after you recieved it? Which Seattle dealer do you use for service? Do you use the Rentor toyota dealer?

I have both the spider and cargo nets. My cargo net does not have an opening in the bottom. I use it to hold larger objects than the spider net can hold down. This way the items stay in place and don't roll around the back.

Maybe I misunderstood what you meant. Here is a picture of my nets. The cargo net was great to hold items like a watermelon this past summer. The melon would have slid out from under my spider net.

I picked mine up in San Diego when I was living there and took it to the detail shop I used for my honda and they hooked it up like a champ inside and out.

I live on Whidbey Island now so I 1st used Foothills, but they ripped my wife off when she brought it in for its 10k service by putting oil in it when it didnt need it and telling her it still needed the 5k oil change(she didnt know about the 10k update and apparently neither did they).

I took it to Renton when I was down there last weekend and they did a great job though they didnt reset any of the maintenance lights in my menu (nav) nor the maintenance light on the dash until I asked them too. I expect my high end car to get high end treatment and seem to just get disappointed by the lack of attention to detail these days. Karmichals did a fantastic job detailing it, down by The Landing.

I meant that the bottom of the net is not secured to the floor other than the 2 corner latches, so things that hit the center of the net can slide underneath it. I havent driven with anything yet to test my thought process though.

What's your experience installing door edge guards (I assume you have OEM version). I've got mine and hesitate to install them because of a chance of scratching original paint (metal - to - metal). Please share your experience if you can.

I took a rubber hammer and started in the middle of each one and worked up both sides. Honestly I have no idea if it scratched the original paint.

Still around, just not into the mods and all, so dont have much to add anymore By far the best mod I did though was getting that NAV bypass installed..I use that almost daily still, so worth the money.

Just hit 50k this morning and still enjoying the hell out of it. Am putting about 350 miles a week on it now, so catching up after all the deployments where it didnt get a lot of love.

Took it snow driving in Leavenworth a few weeks back where it enjoyed frolicking in 2-3 feet of fresh snow and handled great.

Still getting around 20.5 MPG a tank as my drives are mainly highway.

Just thought I'd share that one of the 1st shoreline blue LEs are still going strong

Went in for my 50k check and my battery already failed its test..Only 3 years old and was measured at 508cca (rated at 710).

Frustrating, wasn't expecting to change that out for at least another 18 months or so..

Had some fun between Sun Lake and Deep Lake north of of Euphrata, Wa over labor day. Just hit 90k on the drive home from a great Dave Matthews weekend. Still love the color change based on weather and still love driving it since I got it a mere 4 years ago.
