Blizzard Pearl Owners: Must rally to get clear bra patterns made on our vehicles ASAP. No one has them out yet. Already have 3 rock pecks on finish. With black primer... well, you know how that looks on a white car!

On another note, drove her to Norman, Oklahoma for family Christmas. Rained 90% of the time on the way up and drove through 3 hours of patchy ice (from the blizzard) coming back. She handled beautifully and got 20.5 MPG on the 1300 mile round trip. Again, Toyota got this one right. Waiting on running boards and mudflaps. Most definitely gonna dump the 245/60 bicycle tires and go for more beefy 275/55s as long as I know they won't rub without a lift.

After seeing it in person a few times...I like it.

I'd probably get the exact in every way.

However...for myself, I would go a different direction by getting 17s, so I can slap on some 33" & a lift.

Try to find a place that does window tint who is also a certified 3m installer.
3m is the best brand of clear bra protection. A confident installer can cut the tape to fit your car. I also did notice there are some kits for sale on ebay that advertise for the 2010 4runner (I think one has a picture).
They wanted like 400 to do the front, I didnt go for it, but I am thinking about trying the ebay kit and getting a bullguard to mask the tape job (Im sure I wont do as good a job as the installers)

clear bras are great, they not only protect the paint, they also are harder to mark than the paint, so less dings show in the tape

they also have a full kit for $225

Theyre are is another brand that has a full kit for about $25, for $200 bucks less, I am between that $25 full kit and the $90 3m brand hood kit.

Also, realize that part of the reason 3m costs so much is theyre 5 year warranty against cracking and peeling, but you have to get it installed by a certified installer to get the warranty

Last, if you look at the 3m guys ebay store, he sells bulk amounts of 3m film, enough so you could do the who front for probably $50 bucks if you could find a cheap squeegee and applicator spray, then i belive you just clean (I dont know if you leave the wax on or take that off) and then apply, let set, and they wax the film. After that you just need to wash and wax every 6 months and your set for 3-5 years

Why can't you put 33" tires on 20" rims? I've seen it done plenty of times.

I went to my local dealer a few days ago and the 20's are the best looking rims out of all of the 5th Gen rims.

Easier said than done. I'm in rural Laurel, MS. Closest is Jackson and they only do the kits. I've helped put a kit on an Altima and it wasn't hard at all. Ours has flatter surfaces so it should be easier. I may go the eBay route that you recommended. Do you happen to have that link?

thanks for posting. looks like its a hood and mirror kit. will need full bumper kit. i can put on a bug shield to protect my hood. it will also help break up all the white!

I think this is the kit im going to go with. Its not pre cut, but it is 3m instead of a knock off and its the only way i have found to get 3m brand without paying 90-200 dollars. I think I will be able to cut all the tape to fit with some time and effort. Aside from the film linked above, you will want either 3m brand installation spray or a home made mix of rubbing alcohol and water, Google 3m film install and read through 2 or so of those. I dont think it will be too hard to do an install, especially on the new gens flat face, but it will take a few hours to do it right. Id plan to spend 3-4 hours, preferably in a garage cutting out the pieces and then applying them.
Also, if you dont want to do the cutting and measuring yourself the same ebay seller has 2 precut options, a $90 hood only and a $225 full front kit.
Last, if you search ebay you can find a few partial and full kits between $16 and about $30, but they dont show what the kit actually looks like and they are not name brand, they make work just as well or they may be a waist of time, I have not idea

I was showing my wife your 4Runner thread... and then I saw you Bimmer. She said, "you think he has really good taste, don't you." I have a soft spot for the Z coupes, especially the first gen M roadsters.

Love the runner and the BMW. We're a white car household too. White 07 VW GTI and White/black 05 MINI Cooper S. Hoping to add a white 2010 4Runner SR5 to the stable.

Thanks Quentin. The bimmer has been gathering dust since I picked up the runner. I guaranty you that when the new wears out and when the weather improves, the bimmer will be let loose. I've not owned a car I can throw around like the bimmer.

Nice pics, I also have the blizzard pearl. One thing I've noticed is the rear wiper doesn't wipe the entire rear windshield. Anyone have any thoughts on that? Also anything on mud flaps yet? I live in upstate NY it's snowing and salty!

Regarding the rear wiper, I was going to post a thread on that. Mine is the same so now I'm assuming it's not a problem so much as a stupid design.

I griped about it in my review of my Trail Edition that I bought.

I'm planning on test driving one tomorrow. There are a couple things I need to check out to make sure I'm sure it is exactly what I want (ingress and egress to the 3rd row, how it drives, visibility, and a couple options). I was quite impressed with how the Highlander drove on the road, so it'll be interesting to see how things turn out. We just got a bunch of snow, so it is a great opportunity to convince myself that I need a proper 4WD system.
