My own cb antenna mount (outdoor logic look-alike)

So since outdoor logic dropped off the face of the earth. and toytec is out of stock of their cb antenna mounts i've decided to make my own. personally i love the look of the outdoor logic mount so i used pictures of it to create my template.



it took an hour or so of trial and error but i ended up getting it to look pretty good.



then off to lowes! i was wanting to get 1/8 thick sheet metal but the thickest they had was 16ga. i decided that should hold and if not its not too big of a deal i can make another one





unfinished still, i need to borrow a step drill from my boss to punch those holes , then weld it together. thoughts?

that doesn't appear to be a very thick steel.....? if the Antenna gets caught on something (branch, ect...) it could get rough... maybe just the picture?

Mine was VERY easy, drilled 2 holes in the bumper piece with a piece of steel as a back plate, done. Thing that tool the most time, was removing the bumper end.

haha it isnt that thick, but im gonna be adding a gusset along the front, and hopefully that will help, if not... ill make another one out of thicker material.
and i would just drill a hole in my bumper but ive always liked the look of the drifter mount, and i have the tools and know how to re-create it so why not? thanks for the input!

looks like a good mock up, i like the ODL design too, just found an easier way....
