Sh*t, i just read through this thread, i forgot how many mods i actually did, don't worry there's still plans for more, i dont know if its actually for sale, im very indecesive about selling it, and Jason i don't have the Jetta up here, all i have is a Bicycle. I do want to do some more mods to the 4runner, problem is i hit almost all the ones i can do without dumping tons of money into it, or ending up with a hole in my airbox.

Next step is to paint my centercaps, anyone know the closest paint color code?

my buddy just corn cob blasted his frame and repainted it... he was cob blasting my house and had the machine handy.... look into it, it worked great

Well i am actually doing some real work on the truck again, last night i put a muffler clamp on to where i had installed the new tailpipe without securing it, Tonight i removed the driveshaft so that tommorow i can my bad rear u-joint, but while at Autozone retreving the u-joint, i decided to pick up a can on metallic silver spray paint and paint my center caps after 14 months of neglecting to do so.

u'll get use to the looks. after a while it starts getting better on the eyes. however the only bad thing about removing running boards is...its gunna ruin my leather seats. I noticed when im getting in and out..i dont have running boards to step up and sit..now i have to slide in and out..the outsides of my seats are gunna take a beating.

am i the only one to notice this?

Same thing is starting to happen to me...even with the running boards on though cause i would just step right over them.

While procrastinating from painting my badges, i noticed we had quite alot of spares of 1/2"ish wood, and my dad had all the tools, out and i've been wanting to make a cargo box like JA did for almost a year now, so i figured with this perfect situation i would do it tonight.

I got the idea and most of the measurements from JA and i had to improv as i used most not all of his measurements, so its a bit of a custom job, i plan on grabbing some carpeting from the scrapyard to cover the outside wood, but i'm fairly happy with the results.

Theres an akward hump on the drivers side wheel arch, and this was made so that i didnt need to go into that panel as much. I also don't have a power outlet, that started in 98...

That rear bumper rust seems to be prevelent on mainly chrome bumpered trucks of this vintage where the owner was either lazy or not knowledgeable enough to blow the dirt and mag chloride out from behind it occasionally OR it's a really cheap aftermarket bumper that was put on the truck as a replacement early on in it's life as a repair.

I'd be curious to see some other under body pics. The rest of the truck does not look nearly as bad as the rear bumper from what I can tell.

Theres 2 minor holes in the frame (which are gonna get patched), other than that its light surface rust, the skid plates are pretty rusted but no real holes, but those will be replaced this week as Fonerunner was nice enough to give me his old skids. I replaced most of the really rusted stuff on the truck, it should last for a long long time.


And to Shon, the clutch is still waiting to be replaced, it will only slip in 4 and 5 when i am flooring it.
