Again beautiful job. You had some good luck man. the trailer adapter thing, and the whole receiver sits past the bumper. Mine is the opposite and I need to find a way to make the "hinge" it swings on. that just means I get to hack a tow hitch apart.

I was just about to ask about reverse lights... but that's silly. I have a solution for second gens anyway.

thanks bro n yea i did kind get lucky that del sol tow hitch basicaly gave me all the main parts for the swing out i needed and me not turning my hitch up side down help alot to for my swing out arm to sit on it or else i would had to some how bring the hinge part up into the bumber where theres nothing to weld it on to

or you doing a write up on your build too? i would like to see what ideas you use

finaly got some done raised my hitch/carrier up higher for better clearance came out better than i thought jus one thing i messd up on the driver side left a gap lol

Came out great man - what do you mean there's a gap? you mean just empty space next to the spare tire? then yes, you need to fab up a jerry can holder lol! You definitely got some room to do that. See ya tomorrow!

I was looking at doing a similar swing out, but couldn't figure out what to use for a hinge.... so I went with the swing down model I designed instead.

hey thanks wen I was first lookin into building it I searchd an found only a hand full that was home built n one was urs I didnt no were to get a good hinge n plus were to mount wen I found some companys sells the kit so I originally was gona copy ur style but then saw the parts layin in my back yard so kinda got lucky n got to build the style I wantd great job on urs too by the way:thumb3:

Regarding the mounting point of the carrier to the factory hitch, is it braced? - I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how that one area can support such weight with the tire on the carrier, especially offroad.

Can you please post more pics of how you welded it to the hitch? and if there is any bracing points for it? Thanks

i just use this square plate n welded all the sides to the hitch
n plus the top of the hitch seens to be tuckd in to the frame alittle

i towed this empty trailer and yea its held up good offroad with the carrier and tire

heres a pic with the jerry can full of water i strapped it there to test fit it off road before taking it out to the trails
