My TRD Pro Lift

Ride quality with my 3/2 set up is great, so far. The off-road shop who installed the kit is confident the set up with the stock suspension is fine for my intentions. Will not be rock crawling, but normal road use and light off road will not over stress the components. I did replace the UCAs. Time will tell and I did do some research prior to making the 3/2 decision. I respect everyone’s opinion and value their input. If or when I start having any issues, I will be sure to post those issues so others can learn from my experience. As of now, I am enjoying the ride and look.

Just to clarify, my “research” entails talking with numerous 4Runner owners from different sites about 3/2 cornfed or 3/2 Readylift set ups. Ready lift 3/2 is an option being offered at the dealerships here in Maryland. Does not make it a good thing, but nevertheless. What I found Interesting on the forums was that actual owners with these setups are happy with their decision and been using it for years with no issues. Does not mean I will not have an issue or there are not horror stories out there, I know there must be. However, what was interesting was that actual owners with theses set ups were happy with their decisions. while people who discouraged the set up actually have never used it but know a friend who knows a friend who knew a guy that had issues. Not saying that leveling kits or spacers in any way can replace a quality suspension set up, but not everyone is looking to do serious or even moderate off-roading. Regardless, if my decision turns out to be in error I have no pride issues and will post my negative experience with this set up so others can save their time, money and get a first hand experience about the set up.

Also wanted to add that I’ve traded in my 19 in Voodoo Blue for a 20 in Army Green.
I ordered a 2/1.5 kit directly from David Cornfed and saved a bunch off of other websites.
The 20 with the revalved shocks ended up being a little stiffer, but it’s still livable.

Am I see double AG's in 1 driveway! WOW. I better lay off the Corona's!:bluejump:

You don't need spring compressors and actually they are very dangerous and not at all designed for a coil over. They are made to be used on standard springs. Use the "no spring compressor method" works great and much safer. 295s will fit fine, I have them under mine also. That is as long as you run the correct wheels. As far as the RG goes, worst tires I have ever had. Absolutely horrible in rain, it was like driving on ice. I removed them after maybe 5000-6000 miles and sold them.

What is the "no spring compressor method?" Every video I have watched uses a spring compressor.

That is the first bad opinion of the RG I have heard... I have heard nothing but the opposite of that. I thought they were perfect in everything except snow??

For the pro you don’t want more than 2” over where it is now up front. That brings you to 3” over a stock SR5 which really maxes out angles on control arms and Cv shafts. 2” in the back has been done but with really no solid testing system is so new. For a top hat spacer up front, 3/8” thick for 3/4” lift is max before risking shock damage. Same goes for the Bilstein Pro shocks. People don’t follow these guidelines, we all know that, doesn’t make it a good idea though.

When I ordered my 2.5" front/ 2" rear it, I was not informed of any potential issues or given any type of disclaimer.....

What exactly do I need to worry about if I install the 2.5" front I just received??

I DO plan to off-road and rock crawl and I DO NOT want to have issues, even though I do have a bumper-bumper warranty.

Hey, just wanted to pass along some feedback concerning Burtman Industries and Jason. Awesome experience! Jason talked me through some ideas and helped me pick the best set up. I am extremely pleased how my 4Runner turned out. I went with a 3/2 lift, SPC UCA, diff drop, 285s, and Sprint Boost. Wow, it looks awesome.

Yes! Looks great, thanks for posting the pics. I may add those to the Burtman Facebook page, that ok?

And no problem at all doing 3/2 on a pro with what I sold you. Have done multiple 3/2 kits on Pro's and with the UCA's you are golden. I have all these in stock and if anyone is confused or would like to see more pics of 3/2 kits or other sizes, shoot me text, pics in my phone. I have another customer running this with 295's and it's a beast. The others all were running 285's.

I can do any size you guys want. call/text 717-319-2100 for more pics.

I have Burtman spacers custom done to 2.5" front and 2" rear

I have spoken with Jason Burtman multiple times and the 2.5"/2" kit causes zero issues whatsoever! No alignment issues, no strut issues! Thanks Jason! (he also got me a deal on the Sprint Booster and I love it!)

Pro already sits higher up front than say the SR5 At 2.5" over stock on the Pro you're roughly 3.5" over stock on an SR5 You will need upper control arms for proper alignment and your CV axle angles will be very sharp. Time will tell as far as how long components last especially since you plan to use it hard off road.

For the RG, they were ok in snow, fine on dry pavement, horrible in the rain. It seems people with the 285 like them, 295 seems to be different. You definitely can't run them on stock Pro wheels either.

Get ready for horrible ride quality with a 3/2 spacer lift.
I did a 2/1.5 on my 2019 and it got rid of most of the body roll and nose dive while still being compliant off road.

So that's what happens to a pro when it grows up. Nice job!

Thanks for the feedback. I've sold a ton of these kits and we also install them if anyone is in PA? or close? I have people drive down from MD and VA, etc and I'll help you out on a nice install price.

Again, can do any size you guys want. call/text 717-319-2100 to order or for more pics, I have hundreds!

This forum keeps reducing the size of my photos but here’s a 2.5/2 on army green! Again, I probably have photos on every color 4Runner made so just text me if you’d like to see more.

I'm sure Jason Burtman knows that the 2019's and 2020's sit up an inch higher. Even with them sitting up higher, he says you can still add 2.5" to a 2019 to 2020 without changing the UCA's and still get it aligned to correct specs. In the future I will be adding UCA's, but want to save the $600 for now.

To correct the CV angle, maybe I'll do a diff drop later on.

295/70's have been ran on stock TRD Pro wheels many times. I know that they recommend a 7.5" wheel, but it's still fine according to everyone I've spoken to that has actual experience. Maybe the tires wear out 5k miles quicker, but I really don't care about that. The extra .7" in height more than makes that up for me!

I like to break the rules and go beyond typical parameters to get a look most people don't have and make compromises only when I have to.

I really want a tire that is great in the rain, so maybe I'll reconsider the RG's. Need to read up a little more.

Lots of bad info here. At 3” plus inches up front your alignment spec will be nowhere near spec with stock uppers. You’ll be lucky to get 1-1.5 degrees of caster, you want to be around 4 degrees. This is well known as fact. I run 8” wheels with a 295 and they still don’t sit right even at 30 PSI The outer 1” or so of tread on the rears doesn’t touch the ground but I won’t go lower than 30 PSI. No way will you safely run a 295 on a stock 7” wide pro wheel. All I can do is warn you, you can do whatever you want with that info.

Did you do aftermarket UCA's?

Any alignment issues?

Just spoke with Jason at Burtman Industries and purchased a 2.25/2 spacer lift kit for my 5th gen 4Runner TRD Pro! Great service and after a lot re-search this is the only place I discovered to sell a spacer lift kit for the TRD Pro that will work with the Bilestein suspension. I can’t wait to receive lift kit and install it. Jason was honest and straight forward just like it’s supposed to be! Jason explained no upper UCA’s are required. Great customer service! I will post some pictures soon. Thank again Jason!

Ok, so let me get this straight and set some things straight...

Back in 2019 when I picked up my 2019 Pro in voodoo blue. I was looking fo a cheap way of lifting it and putting on some 285s.

I seen this very thread and decided I liked the look of the 2.5/2 kit and like most people ordered my kit from Jason at Burtman industries. I payed 250.00 plus shipping for the 2.5/2 kit.

Later that day I get a text from Jason asking if he could call. He ends up calling me and tells me that HIS manufacturer of the spacers stated that the 2.5/2 kit would not work with the Fox set up that came on the 2019. So I ended up getting what was recommended, a 2/1.5 kit.

So now I curious and with a little research I find that Burtman Industries actually sells Cornfed spacers.
I do a little more research and it seems like Burtman Industries is selling the same kits as on Cornfeds website, but for substantially more. I text Jason and ask why is his kits so much more. He tells me itÂ’s a custom made kit for the new pro with Fox shocks.
So I keep my order standing with him and wait for the delivery. All the while Jason is asking me if I would like to purchase other products like a Gibson cat back, cold air intake and sprint booster. Typical salesman upselling.

I receive the box, and itÂ’s dropped shipped directly from Cornfed. I look on Cornfed website and look up a 2/1.5 kit and itÂ’s a whopping 110.99 cheaper than what I payed at Burtman Industries.

IÂ’ll add that I have nothing against Jason at Burtman Industries and in fact have ordered other items with him, I just do my research first and make sure IÂ’m not paying him 110.99 to be the middle man and place my order.
