Since I got the 2/1.5 ordered I’m now looking at wheels/tires.
Two questions:
1.) will FJ 17” steelies and 285’s work with this setup? I read somewhere that the dealers can get a 17x7.5 OEM 4 runner steelie but can’t find em.
2.) is it ok to run 285’s in stock pro wheels? I see it’s a heated debate and some do while others don’t.

Great. I get a lot of questions about this. Yes, the one cool thing about these trucks is the beautiful ride quality and after install I'm happy to report it's still there. Another thing is - after going over bridges or expansion joints - it feels better to me. It's more of a solid secure feel in these instances.

My 2/1.5" is sitting on the work bench!
My wrench turner is on vacation until this Friday, but went on and booked an appointment for Saturday morning.
Once done I can throw steelies and 285's on it!
Can't wait to get this going

You're welcome. Thanks for posting. Some forget that I also have the Spidertrax in addition to the lifts (The Spidertrax push the wheels out 1.25" more than factory to make the wheels and tires more flush with the wheel wells, etc.

Here’s a close up. Perhaps compare them to Toytec. Do they install under the top perch like CF ?
Is this what a properly installed unit looks like? I ask for reference.

Yes I did the same.
Question though..... What if we left this rubber insulator was left on? What would it hurt?
I notice I can feel a little more feedback in the steering wheel from small imperfections in the road now that the rubber is removed and spacers are installed. Not bad, but noticeable.

I’m not sure if would hurt anything. If anything, it would just get smashed between the spring and spacer. I believe it’s initial purpose was to dampen any spring to top hat metal to metal noise. But since the spacer is a like plastic material, there would be no metal to metal contact. But according to Jason, the CF spacers were designed without that rubber piece in place.

Correct. It really won't hurt anything if you leave it in, but it can kinda look like a used condom
I didn't say that, a customer did that forget to remove it when installed the spacers, lol. The spacers are designed to make up for the space of that isolator. It's not longer needed with the lift kit install 5th gen lifts, On Sale - for sr5, trd pro, 3/2 w/uca's etc. at Burtman Industries

Here is my lift with "crown spacers" from Westcott Designs. I chose these because it keeps the TRD Pro suspension intact with the same geometries so it doesn't max out your lowers and keeps stock comfort intact while also allowing me to fit 285s with only front mudflap removal.
Jeff Westcott is a great guy to talk to about it as he designed it and formerly worked for Toyota.
Feels stock, looks a lot better.

We always talk about clearance issues in the front around the BMC, fender liner, and bumper, but what about the rear? Do you guys think going with a 34" tire would cause the rear tire to touch near the rear door at full articulation?
This is nearly maxed out with my 32's, and it looks really close to touching the door!
I really want 34's, and I have the Burtman 2.5/2", fender liner mod, and will be doing my BMC chop this week.
Just curious, are you on a dirt road and wearing a suit? That's impressive!
