My V8 is loving $1.62 a Gallon Fuel!

After 42 years of being gouged by the Gulf Oil Cartel and assorted other countries and for that matter, oil companies...

It was an absolute pleasure, albeit temporary, to fill up yesterday on $1.62 gallon fuel!

Plus... to all those running V8's... and all the endless comparisons to the V6...

Don't you have a smile on your face when filling up with cheap fuel AND driving one of the smoothest, most reliable SUV's on the road?

Hell Mother F'king Yes!!! Ive seen it at 1.79 out here so naturally I'm going for premium which is still under $2. I'm carrying about 500+ extra lbs with my bumper, tires and gear on a daily basis so decent gas mileage lasts about as long as I would in bed with a Victoria Secret model. I'm thinking about buying several gerry cans just to fill up with gas when these prices are so low.

Yep, I can understand that people like cheap gas, but the Saudi's and OPEC are pumping oil like mad to destroy our local oil industry. Their goal is to severely damage our oil industry, so that they can have a larger marketshare when prices go back up.

So do be mindful these lower gas prices are causing lots of people to lose their job. Not all roses when you pay less at the pump...


BTW - I remember paying quite a bit under $1/gal in 1998 (I think around 85 cents for 87 is the lowest I remember, 93 was under $1/gal). So gas has been pretty cheap quite a bit in the previous decades.

cheapest near me as of this morning $2.33 still though.. $40 full tank is getting close to "drive around for no reason" money. I feel like I got a raise

For about 1/2 of those 42 years gas was comparably priced, inflation adjusted.

But, yeah, I'm enjoying it.

I'm taking more road trips haha, I paid $1.54 this morning in Colorado Springs! And I get 5% back on gas, so that's like paying $1.47.

Wow, a $1.62 (or lower I see from a few posts) is pretty spectacular. We’ve been waiting for it to dip under $2/gallon here, and most places have stayed around $2.0x, but _finally_ up in town we say a $1.99/g Too bad I had already filled up. Still, incredible to see a near full tank fill up run ~$40!

I would gladly pay $5-6/gal forever if it meant getting off of the middle eastern oil nipple for good and being able to :flipoff: them for good!

They are exercising economic warfare right now on us and most Americans are too freaking ignorant to even realize it.

Yep, thus the reason I ordered a new vehicle that gets 11-13mpg but is fun to drive. Didn't care when gas was $4, don't care when gas is $2.

I would love gas at 1.62 also.. Here in CA where all the tree loving, prius driving, hippi procrastinators live. Gas is still an average of 2.35. Which I still love, and appreciate. Quality of life here sucks for a median income family. :focus:

I worked with this guy that was a weight lifting programmer, drove a Tahoe, used it for his boat.

I had my panties in a knot over mpg, he said, "You drive what you are going to drive" meaning, whatever vehicle you buy, you are probably going to drive about the same amount.

So, take the distance you drive, in a year say, and see how much the different mpg and price of gas is gonna save you. And it isn't going to be a shocker, the less distance you drive, the less important the price of gas or mpg matters.

Now if I could only not change jobs between buying cars.

Everyone says "paradise", but as a place to live Hawai'i is really s***. The roads suck, houses are ridiculous, the traffic is horrendous, mosquitos and roaches everywhere, everything is expensive, many things need to be ordered anyway, etc etc.

As soon as my kids are out of the house, I'm out of this place.

I never been to Hawaii, but I could imagine living there. All the meth and lack of jobs. All the import cost.. Sounds like most of the jobs there are based in tourist attractions.

Its why I prefer to vacation in Mexico than Hawaii. I could imagine its the same climate. Just cost less.

how's the weather?
I can tell ya it is NOT 23 degrees there right now, that's for sure... The rest of stuff on your list is the same anywhere you live in some form or fashion, take a deep breath and enjoy your surroundings, yeesh.

for instance, you've never seen bad roads if you've never been in PA #TheWorstAnywhere, Houses are old as dirt and all need renovated or rebuilt, traffic palease, mosquitos - yup got those in swarms like no other, roaches yup plus stink bugs and various other insects, PA is top 5 in taxes in the nation so yup, got that... most things are unfortunately imported so that's no different anywhere.
