I'm not sure how I miseed the last three posts.

I have thought about debadging completely, but I think it looks bad. Pearl emblems would be cool, but I'm not sure if my dad would be cool with it. Good idea though, seems easy.

Good idea David. I will definitely ask the seller before buying one. I would hate to have to modify the stock grill.

Burtman's site does have a lot of great stuff, but it is hella expensive. There is no way I would pay $300 for a grill or for pretty much any other part for my 4runner.



I saw someone today with black FJ rims. I thought they looked good. I'm kind of debating between black and the silver/gunmetal color. At $120 a piece they seem very reasonable. Any ideas on which would look better. Also consider I might have a billet grille.

Here's what I found when I was looking around for how to take off the running boards. Seems pretty darn simple.

I'm kind of in the same situation as you, Clemsonfan. I'm looking to make some mods but I don't have too large of a budget and I'm gonna be hoping to get some stuff for Christmas. Don't really plan on doing any extreme off-roading so I'm going for visual stuff.

This are some of the ideas I've come up with:

-BFG All-Terrain 31s
-Tacoma Skid Plate
-possibly the Toytec 3" lift
-Blacked out emblems
-Remove running boards
-Maybe a new muffler
-Deckplate mod

Thanks for the link man. I don't have a 13mm socket. I wish 4runners would use US customary units. I have plenty of those sockets.

If I get all the stuff that has been discussed so far I guess I will have done most of the "easy" mods. I don't think I'll get into doing anything complicated or expensive.

I don't think the Japanes are going to go as far as to ditch the metric system just for cars imported to america.

I've always had both types since the '80s and have gotten more use from the metric set since the early '90s and haven't owned a domestic brand since.

I agree. I use the metrics more than the standards. Even domestic cars today use metric sizes. About the only thing that I use the standards for is when I go to the hardware store to buy bolts.
