Dave is right Terri. When I put my front suspension and new UCA's in, my truck was wandering all over the place and felt crazy loose. If you look back to my build, you'll even see where I mentioned it. I went back and added additional caster using the UCA adjustment and it made a world of difference. Then after alignment it rides great. Trust us, this is what it is. Caster over factory spec (like I've got), no problem. Caster under factory spec, big problem. Even if it's a fraction of a degree.

If you haven't looked, I got a pretty great deal on them from Amazon here. They're normally like $450 everywhere, but I bought them for $399 and got free (lightning fast) shipping and right now they've got them listed for $388.71.

Do this next and report back. If you need help with the install or reading the instructions on how to use the caster/camber adjustments just let us know. I promise it'll make all the difference. Only downside is, you'll need to get your alignment re-done. I just went ahead and bought a 3-year alignment deal this last time I went in (would have bought lifetime if they offered it since some places do) since it only cost the same as 2 alignments and because I knew I'd be coming back if I needed to tweak things like UCA adjustments or coil-over settings.

Told you it might be short lived! The sticker has already been removed. My husband had to take it today to do some work on it and I teased him about the sticker. Said that some hot guy's going be expecting to see a woman driving my truck and when they get up close and realize it's another man driving it they're going to think you're gay :lmao:

2nd round of rubbing resolved. Fender liners pushed forward again and front underside of bumper trimmed slightly.
I'm sure more to come when I get the UCA's on and the Caster into spec.

Does anyone know of a really good tire cleaner? My tires came from upper CA and they must have been taken off road on a reddish color terrain. I washed them with a scrub brush and car wash but it's still there.
Ideas?

Simple Green and a stiff bristle brush works good. You could also try dish washing liquid. I know you don't have white lettering, bu on mine i use a stiff bristle brush and powder Comet. Works great for getting them white again. Let me know what you end up using.

They make wheel and tire cleaner products that you can spray on and let soak in for a little bit and then rinse. When the foam runs down, you can see it take the grime with it. I've also used a product in the past (sold in the same section) called "Bleach White" that is mainly a whitewall cleaner, but it works excellent on tires. Also, you can just go to one of those coin operated car washes and they have tire cleaner that you can spray on. It's all similar product. If it's really stubborn, you can get in there with a green scratch pad or stiff brush like Momo said and throw some elbow grease on it while it's soaking. That should work.

Then spray them down with some protectant and it should look good as new.

Growing up in Mississippi, and riding through swamps along the MS River, the mud was clay based. It was some of the thickest, grey mud i have ever seen, called Gumbo Mud. If you let it dry on your tires it would turn them green. That stuff was a PITA!

Great ideas, guys! Thank you both. I'll grab one of those products when I go to the store next and try it out.
It's frustrating, cause I clean them with the car wash from the bucket and scrub the heck out of 'em. Looks like its gone until they dry. :ybrick:

Every once in a while i will have something on my tires that shows up after they dry. This stuff i use on my tires works great. It makes the tires nice and black, but not greasy like Armorall and such. It just makes them look brand new.

Thanks, Momo! I might give that kind a try. Now that you say that, I did notice this last time that the stuff I used left a greasy over-spray on my wheels.

purple power.. spray it on the tire like windex on a windsheild and watch the grit and grime just break away you can pressure wash it off or use a scrub brush to scrub the tire back to sqeaky clean. (its similar to bleach white like what superman recommended also a great product) but try not to let either product sit on painted surfaces to long it can eat into the paint.

Started my Satoshi grille tonight.
It's not complete yet. I still need to sand the inside of the grille where it was cut apart, have it painted black, shape the mesh for a bit more of a 3D look and put it all back together. Pretty good for just one evenings work so far.
