Sorry to hear about your dog certainly sending prayers his way!

That's no good about your brakes either; however, I thought I'd send you my despair to let you know your not alone. I changed about my hub bearings this weekend. After painstaking hours spent friday night trying to use a bearing puller to remove the old hub bearing assembly from the wheel hub flanges, I took them to a local drive line shop Saturday morning.
They said "yeah we can press those off and press your new ones on no problem 20 bucks for the press work is all it will cost" I said sweet! call me when there ready.
went back home finished cleaning up the steering spindles removed my brake calipers and cleaned them up really good pressing all pistons back in to insure no seized caliper characteristics.
Had everything ready for the new hub assemblies, so I called to check there status.. "yeah there ready we thought you were just coming back by later sorry we didnt realize you were waiting for a call" I said okay cool I'll be there shortly...
I get there, the guy proceeds to say "oh man I actually have to apologize we weren't able to press out the old hub flanges, even with a hydraulic press"..
Me: "WTF! you said they were ready yall had my number you can't call anyone to tell them not to waste 5 hours of your day waiting for DA's that can't press a flange out with a 20ton press!!!!" grabbed my parts and left.. The hub assemblies didn't even appear to have been touched, they looked just as they did when i left. One of them a 1/4" pressed out from what little I got it to move covered in penetrating oil(with a bearing puller and impact wrench) and the other dry as a bone hadn't even been pressed on.
So pissed! I went to toyota had their service writer walk me back to there master tech. He offered to do the work but was honest in saying he wouldn't be able to get it done that day and that "These are the hardest hub bearing assemblies toyota makes to pull" (kinda laughed when he said that).. However they wanted like 220 to do the press work. I said later...
got back home at around 1pm or 2pm grabbed the damn angle grinder and cut off wheel and cut the hub bearing assembly off the hub flange for both sides, put a new outer seal on the new hub bearing and pressed them both on to the original hub flanges had the brakes bled and test drove by 6 that evening.
guess what I found in the test drive... A seized front passenger side caliper...

:suspicious:
