N Fab Nerf Bars

are the ends capped, or is it open? anyone have any issues with rust, for those who see winters

Thanks for the quick reply! Those are very light then. Even if they were 20 lbs each, they are still much lighter than any rock slider.

Can't compare them to slider, they do not offer any protection.

Thanks for the more accurate estimate, appreciate it. I know that they don't compare in that regard, but I'm looking for a step. A rock slider that pops out a little more would complete that task. And having more protection would be a bonus. But my overal goal is to have little weight gain.

I'm with you on the weight thing, adding weight will really slow you down. I like the nfabs but if I didn't have others to consider I'd run neither. In hindsight I'd go with sliders, the weight difference between the nfabs and some super sweet c4fabrication sliders with the trd pro cut outs is around 40lbs.

Thats a good perspective as well...for 40 pounds you get a little insurance and something that is much more rugged. MMMmmmmm decisions...ha! Thanks for your insight!

Hi guys, just curious, what did most of you go with, the 2" or 3", and why? Does the 3" look too burly? Is there significant weight difference? Thanks

I have the 3" and don't think it looks to burly. Don't know the weight but I didn't think they were heavy when I installed them.

I have the 3" and like them a lot. They are beefy-er than the 2" bars without much added weight (only +13lbs total). From those I've seen in person, the gap from the tube to the rocker panels is much smaller with the 3" bars, and therefore sits tighter to the rocker panels. The install was incredibly easy and didn't require any modification. Simply removed the stock OEM running boards and installed the N-Fabs.

Here are my 2" Nerf Bars. I love them. Great for cleaning the roof and putting my kayaks in their racks.

Just bought the 3" and installed them. Some things I noticed after the fact when comparing the 2" vs 3".

The 2" model back step sits farther back and the angle of the step flows with the wheel well. The 3" model back step sits a little farther forward making it a little less useful for getting in the back seat. Also the front portion of the back step sits in front of the door line.

The 2" model front step sits farther forward than the 3" model. Making the 3inch a little more efficient for entering the front seat.

Idk why these variations exist. They should use the placement of the 2" for the back step and the 3" for the front step.Weird the steps are a few inches different/apart when all that should be affected is the main bar size.

Mine have held up well to salt, but I'm starting to notice some rust where the powder coat is failing in the smaller holes in the step plates. Not a huge deal since they're meant to take abuse, but they've held up well for the 4 years I've had them. I have sliders to replace them with, but I'm not in any hurry since they're on and they're functional as steps
