Has anyone Line-x'd these yet?

I was going to sell my stock Rigid running boards and go with these, but if I have to have them Line-X'd on top of the selling price, not sure if its worth it?

Yes, Line-x'd them before install. Was hoping to protect them from gravel and road grit. One year in and still like new. No rust issues that seem to pop up with untreated units. Power washer keeps them looking good. Just don't treat them with tire shine as they get slick! Wife loves them for getting in the rig, I like them for grabbing stuff off the roof. Nice step up to the rear tire.

ive had mine for about a year down here in the salty south.... no issues. I don't have to deal with snow/salt though

Bought mine off jet.com for $280 using the 15% first time buyers discount. My truck is stock but think the bars give it a slightly aggressive look. The fit is perfect.

[MENTION=106592]jebmobile[/MENTION] - It doesn't have anything to do with the KDSS lines. The steps do not bolt to the frame- they bolt to the body itself. Strong enough to be steps- NOT sliders.

They list them as TE only because previous models- 2010-2013 had different rocker panels for SR5/LE vs TE that required trimming.

The new models all seem to have the same rockers and they should fit on there no problem with no trimming.

EDIT: The Trails and SR5's have the same rockers so the NFabs will fit them.
The Limited will still need spacers, or cutting to fit.

N-Fab needs to update their site/do some research.

Original Gen 3 owner waiting on my new 2016 TEP w/ KDSS to arrive and have a quick question regarding any necessary hardware to install the nerf bars on the '16.

Is there any associated hardware that comes with the bars or are the bolts/nuts on the truck and I just loosen them to attach? [I'm assuming the latter] I'm asking because someone's selling a used set of just the bars locally and without the truck in hand to look under, I wasn't sure what, if any, additional hardware I need to purchase to install. TIA.

I installed mine yesterday and it's actually 5 bolts. You need a 12 socket to take the factory bolts and a 13 to put the new ones in. Check out this video: http://youtu.be/XWpOSzNGRh4

correct it was only 5. as for the size I really dont know... Id guess 30mm

I live in the desert (AZ) so I have no concerns with rust at all. Nothing rusts out here. That being said, I paid $330 for them from runningboardwarehousr.com & installed them in about 20 minutes total time torquing to 20lbs at each of the 5 included bolts for the job. 10/10 happy with them so far.

Easy peezy. Lay on your back and put a bar on your stomach. You'll be able to see where the bolts are in the bottom of the body. BIG HINT. The bent part of the bar goes forward. The instructions will say otherwise, but take my word for it. Start one bolt in the center bracket to hold the bar in place. Then go to one end and start installing them until all are in place hand tight. Then snug them down with the wrench or a ratchet. 30 minutes tops. Faster if you have a helper.

Just installed the Nfab steps on my Trail. Had a friend over for a few minutes so I had him help do a quick bolt up and figured I'd go back and re install each bolt with some Loctite.

Being a typical guy, that's when I decided to read the instructions and saw where it says that the short end goes to front and curve to back. WTF?!! Decided to search images online and all had the curve to the front. Just thought I'd quote this old post so that anyone installing knows the instructions are completely bassackwards.

Pretty sure the instruction were written for a Tacoma and are correct only for that vehicle. Bolt holes must be symmetrical and in same locations on each vehicle?

Being a typical guy, that's when i decided to read the instructions and saw where it says that the short end goes to front and curve to back. Wtf?!! Speaking of running boards/sliders, has anyone ever heard of Truck Lungs? They're a nerf/slider style board with a step, where the tubing doubles as an air tank with sleeve type fittings to use in reflating tires. According to the website, they're only made for the Tundra and other makes. Not quite crazy about the idea of 200PSI being trapped inside something designed to support the weight of the truck and protect against boulders and sharp objects. Regardless, has anyone heard of something similar for the 4Runners?
