N-Fab Roof Rack

Anyone running an N-Fab roof rack? Are they worth the money? Looking at 575 shipped on Amazon. They only have 2 reviews, and they're both good.

if it is built the same way as their steps, i'd stay away from it.

Edit: although, you're in TX, so you may actually get to use their stuff.

Yeah, I actually pulled the trigger and ordered it from CarId. They sent me a confirmation email that it would be shipped on 7/17, so I called to cancel. Kind of glad I did. Figured I'd have buyers remorse once it came in. I'm just going to order some factory cross bars, I think it'll be sufficient for my needs.

I like, and use mine. No complaints on them at all. Not sure why everyone dogs them all the time. To each their own I guess.

I ordered mine and arrived within 5 days from autoplicity.com. It came in a box smaller than anticipated. Haven't cracked it open yet. Tomorrow I plan to install and will let you know.

they got eaten by salt after one season of driving with them here in Chicago.

Ended up having to cut and grind them off to trade the truck in.

I chose them because of the aluminum build. Was worried about weight and possible rust. Based on pictures, I like the small profile. However the box was smaller than expected. But looking at the manual via online, looks like there is some assembling. Hopefully it will hold up for several years.

The coating on the n-fabs I had on my truck were garbage. Peeled off terribly.

Here you go. Install took about 2 hours. Lots of piecing together the parts. Definitely not a rack to stand on, but sufficient for camping, fishing, and beach gear.

Wow, came out nicer than I expected it to. How heavy was it? And how hard was it to get on the roof between the rails? I'd most likely be attempting this solo out in my apartment parking lot. LOL

Loaded it from the side. Requires a small step ladder to clear the height. I was able to do this solo.

Weight was not heavy, probably about 35-40 lbs. It's of aluminum material which is what I wanted - for rust free and easy on/off.

The roof rack is marketed for its modular lighting mounts. With all these pre-drilled holes along the top (on the sides from front to back), I see no reason why I couldn't cut some aluminum angle and drill matching holes to make removable cross bars. At least that gives me an option to mount a cargo box or any other accessories on top of that rack.

Also with the various cut outs along the sides, plenty of choices of anchor points for ratchets straps, cargo net, or even a cargo bag.

I have been contemplating a full size rack, but was turned away by cost, time of delivery, and possible noise issues while driving. The family enjoys driving with the sunroof and rear window open. Until we grow out of this one, we will enjoy it for awhile.

For those wonder, as per N-Fab, the weight load is 125 lbs.

for a little more money, i'd get a echotechne or prinsu rack.

For a roof basket, the nfabs look good enough that I almost bought it, but decided to spend a little more for a prinsu.

Keep in mind if you do with prinsu, prepare to wait....lol

Love mine,got from Amazon. Drilled in holes for rear spot/flood light. Total height 6.8 ft tall

Just got this and started installing today. Instructions unreliable and riddled with spelling errors. Couldn't finish because hardware kit was short 4 nuts and 7 washers. No spring washers at all supplied so buy a pack before you start if you want this thing to stay together. Maybe it'll turn out to be good but I'm not optimistic based on what I've seen so far. I didn't expect this for a 600 USD rack.
