Hey, everyone!!! I recently got back from deployment to Iraq and, not wanting to screw up my brand new Tundra going off road, I figured I'd get me a toy to toss around and not feel too bad about. I scored a 1990 4Runner in awesome running condition for $840. Yes, three digits. It has the 22RE, 5sp manual, and is pretty stock, other than a set of aftermarket rims that look like they were powdercoated black or maybe painted. The back was also chopped and some sort of canvas or nylon-type cover was put on. Runs great, other than an exhaust leak where the header meets with the rest of the exhaust. I sprayed some PB Blaster on it to break it up, as the bolts are rusted to the nuts, it seems. I'll likely upgrade the whole thing. It has a Pioneer stereo in it and from what I can tell, it'll need some TLC to make road-worthy, but I'm looking to trailer it anyway. The sunroof doesn't seem to engage, but you can hear the motor working. The washer fluid pump doesn't seem to work either. The window motors are real slow, but I guess that's expected on a 21 year old truck (it can drink!!! Lol). I look forward to being a part of this community and learning as much as I can. Sorry for the long intro, but I felt it was worth mentioning. Pictures will follow soon.
