Navigation question

I have a 2003 4Runner with the navigation. I want to upgrade the disk. I am curious about two things.

1. Will the disk from a 2005 Toyota Sienna work? I just bought the mini-van for my wife and the dealer gave us an extra dvd disk - he said there is some recall on the disks and he had a bunch extra -- he said it should work in the 4 runner. I dont want to mess with it unless I am sure it will work.

2. If the sienna disk will not work, is the upgrade worth it? Does the new 4runner dvd have more points of interest like the sienna does?

I don't know the answer to your question, but if it doesn't work in yours and you don't need it, I would be happy to take it off your hands....

I'd give it a shot and try loading the disc. It won't screw up your navi system. The system simply boots to the disc. Thus, if it's incompatible, it won't boot and it'll just give you an error message. Solution: put the original disc back in

My only issue with screwing it up or not is that I don't want to wipe the marked points I entered into the GPS. How else will I find all the strip clubs when I travel on business?

I think the POI's that you enter are stored in the computer memory since the disc in not writable....
So, by removing and placing a new disc into the unit, I would think that you won't lose your POI's.
I've removed my navi disc and did not lose the POI's after replacing it. But of course it was the same disc that I put back in....

Yeah, that's true-- your points of interest and your personal settings have nothing to do with the navi DVD. You should not lose them by swapping DVDs.
