Brian, if you look underneath your stock 4th GEN you'll notice the CV angles are at a negative angle. The lift puts them slightly over horizontal. It's like Toyota made it with lifting in mind. The angle on the stock 3rd GENs started out when the 3" - 4" lifted 4th GEN stops. CV angle is not a worry for lifting a 4th GEN.

His last pic shows a 5" lift and the resulting angle. I personally would not go past a 3" lift but that's just my opinion and based on the way I drive and things I do with my rig.

Thanks. I've seen the CV problems with 3rd gens, Tacomas, and Tundras. I've never heard of a problem with a 4th gen. I plan to crawl under tonight for the first time, first oil change. I'll spend a lot of time creeping around and learn about my truck.

TD is right on with his comments regarding the 4th gen cv's. I have been running 5" of lift for 6 months before I finally did the diff drop the other day. Though my cv angles were rather steep, they are just fine now. What this all means is that it is time for more suspension lift!...lol, stay tuned.

In case you missed it, there are a couple warning threads about Nitrous Enterprises. I urge you not to use their products. There are severe safety issues involving their spacers. Because of that, I wouldn't trust their sliders either.

Fae: yeah I saw those threads. I wasn't implying that Id be using the $ to buy NE products, but more so to imply that id like my truck to look like his!
