Need A.D.D.differential info

I'm fairly new to this forum and have tried all different kinds of search terms to look up and better understand this system.
Can somebody give me a good search term under "Advanced search,Titles only" that i can use to search.
Trying to figure out if there's any possible way to lock both tires in the front end if needed and generally how this system works.
I would also like to eliminate the vacuum system and put in some kind of manual cables if possible

First off, you'll be looking at an Eaton E-locker, an ARB air locker, or a lunchbox locker like an Aussie or Lockright, or Spartan locker if you want to lock your front axle.
Second, why do you want to eliminate the vacuum system?

Use the how to search sticky thread, not the forum search. You can find it in my signature or as a sticky.

Forum search only sees 4 chars not 3. So if you search 4WD, TRD, ABS or anything with 3 chars, the forum search will basically return no relevant results.

I installed a Spartan Locker in my 88 Suzuki Samurai which i why i need to know more about this A.D.D. ststem which seems to use a slide sleeve.... If this system has spider gears then i will be able to do the job that's why i need to look up the working of the 4Runner diff. with A.D.D.

No, it's not broke but with 20 year old vacuum lines i am leary of a rubber line going bad when i need it the most....
From what i have read in other places most seem to like this system so want to study it better or have a way to lock it in if needed if the vacuum gets a leak... I'm probably getting excited over nothing

I don't do any really heavy wheelin', just a bunch of Desert runs to prospecting spots of choice

Thanks and i will give that a good look over as you suggested.... I recently purchased this 4Runner which i have completed a front end re-hab (ball joints, TRE, etc) which was fairly easy except the UBJ's.
A.D.D. systems are new to me and want to understand it better before i attempt any work on it


Update, I just tried your "Better Way" thru google for the 3rd Gen. like you suggested and it worked like a charm......

I understand your logic.
Here is a great way to eliminate the stock vacuum system.

This would be a great mod paired with manual hubs.

what i am looking for to use with manual hubs....A manual cable to lock In/Out on the actuator would be good also .....
