Need advise.....no oil after oil change

I sold a used car once to a guy waiting for his lawsuit to domino with Jiffy "the dry lube specialists". He was expecting a 2 year experience to collect.

Do those RT's come with a Hemi? We've been seeing a few 5.7L & 6.1L Hemis (I've been reading about even more... which is scary) with HORRIBLE cylinderhead problems. We've got a 5.7L with the not so uncommon problem of falling intake valve seats (clearance issue from the factory that wasn't really taken care of as it plauges many model years) and some other major issue. I was thinking of picking up a Challenger myself with a 6.1L because I love the original, but I am honestly a little cautious of even touching one at work for fear the engine will just fall apart.

Thanks all. Last word is that he got a Check Engine light today so,it is at a shop to be looked at tomorrow.

Is a lawyer in order or would his insurance company be the best step? Insurance would handle an accident so why would this be handled any differently?

His mechanic took a look at it and it passed "inspections" and passed all "diagnostics" according to my friend. Don't know what any of that really means but he now plans to have Jiffy Lube pay for whatever minimal work/checking the mechanic did and then proceed as normal to sell the car (which he was planning to do before this happened anyway).

I don't agree with him going so light and I did offer that I think the car is certainly damaged to some extent and it may not rear it's ugly head until sometime in the short or long term. Now I back off because I will only caution him so far. He has no plans to disclose any of this to any potential buyers but knowing him, I believe he ultimately will and it will end up costing him a few grand to a discerning buyer or he may find some fool who doesn't care so long as it "passed diags" and buys it anyway at market price (about $12k).

Personally, I think he'll end up with more problems before he sells it but after he's concluded with Jiffy and then he'll be stuck with a shit car with constant problems.

He's stuck with a shit car with constant problems regardless of JL's involvement, dumping that car is probably a good idea. I do hope he discloses the issue to a potential buyer, if not out of good karma, to cover his ass from a buyer turning around and suing him for non-disclosure of a problem later down the line.

I wish him the best of luck on selling his vehicle and hope that any problems related to the lack of oil don't show up soon.

He's figuring he can't be successfully sued since he brought it to a mechanic who documented that it passed "tests" so no need to disclose thus the car is fine and checked out.. Big gray area here.

Turns out he drove it about 1/2 mile away from JL so he went a full mile with no oil. There's some damage there and the life of that engine has been severely cut IMO.

I remember the quick lube place down the street showing me the dipstick with the oil level every time I went in. Good policy to avoid that mistake. Now I do my own, Ive had enough over tightened drain plugs snap off and other dumb stuff happen at this point to trust some 19 yr old kid learning how to change oil on my rig. Id push hard for a new engine even if it seems fine there is a reason oil is required and it will most likely die early.
