Need amp help and audio recommendation

Hi,

So I have purchased the taco tunes recurve, the taco tunes/image dynamics component set up for the dash speakers/front door speakers.

What I have left to purchase:

Anyone have any experience with Kenwood amps? I really dont want to spend $400+ on an amp when I really dont need something that nice. Just upgrade the crap stock system and a little bass. Any other recommendations on amps that are compact? Taco tunes now has a 5 channel amp but once you add everything it comes to $450 https://tacotunes.com/shop/toyota-4runner/amps-sound-processors-toyota-4runner/2010-2020-toyota-4runner-plug-n-play-5-channel-amplifier-install-kit/ but maybe this would all be worth the money? I just want to do this once and do it right

Any help here? Rather save some bucks where I can. Also - what do I need in terms of wiring kits or anything else so the audio shop doesnt hose me. Thanks

for amps, i tend to go with the separate amp route, one for mids and highs, and one for sub, reason being, you might consider upgrading later on, also you get more power to the speakers depending on the amps. i take the rockford over kenwood for power. look into arc audio xdi amps, they give out plenty of power. look on diyma forum and see if there is a mint condition amp for sale, i saw a focal couple weeks ago for a good price, that focal sound better than the rockford and kenwood.

for amp kits, i recomemend knukonceptz ofc amp kits, kolussus series of things.

hey rice - its more of finding compact amps that will fit under the seats. I want everything out of sight and also the smallest box I can get a sub in. Basically narrows it down to very few which I have listed.

The rockford is pretty expensive though as well. Would like to keep my costs down where I can.

you can get a 4 channel amp, i have amps under each seat, but i have 4th gen.

also for sub, u can get the ones with the amp built in, but on those, when you want to upgrade later, you have to buy another complete sub amp combo.
rockford got a sealed 10 or 12, i like the jl audio powered microsub. i think its compact enough, plus its a ported enclosure so itll sound a tad louder than a sealed box.

check craigslist and other sites on used gear, might be able to work out a deal with a dealer during these holidays.
check ebay on prices, but dont expect warranty when it fails.

that taco tunes recurve is like a eq line driver. some of these amps dont need it now since it can take speaker signal for the input. but you will have limited eq sound adjust without that. looks like a audio control brand that im used to seeing.

if you use the recurve, make sure the amp gains are all the way down, otherwise youll hear that noise with too high of a signal inputting to amp. so amp gain down and use the recurve to set the gain, remember not too high.

if you do the 5 channel amp. look for some pioneer slim sub, since you want it to be compact, you can also try some stereo integrity brand.

I've been using Kenwood Excelon in my last 3 cars and love them. Small, powerful and clean. I agree with other poster do a mono amp for the sub and a 4-channel for separates. I have a JL Audio 12" Pro with a 1000 watt mono amp XR1001-1 and I'm running Focal's in the doors on a 400 watt 4-channel amp XR401-4. Sounds amazing.

I wouldnt be opposed to 2 amps but I already have the recurve so I am a bit limited on the space. I think a 5 channel will be more than enough. What cables/cords/wires will i need and can buy off amazon so they dont charge me double at the shop?

Planet Audio is good stuff. I have a 2 channel in my runner with 2 12's and sounds great. but i have been using there product lately and have no problems. ebay is the best place to look
