I have a 99 4Runner 3.4 TRD Limited 4X4. Has 130K. I have a no start issue, do not happen all the time, and most times no issue, sometimes it takes several cranks to start. I have done timing belt, plugs, wires, coils, charcoal canister, fuel filter and air filter. There are no current or stored codes. I am at a loss. Where do I go from here?

Off the limited info, sounds like a starter issue...

What does it to when it doesn't start? Click click click? Turn over, but won't start?

it turns over, sometimes will crank 2 or 3 times, other times several. its just random

Yup it's your starter going out. Gonna need to replace the starter contacts or just grab a new starter. Do not buy one from Auto Zone, I did and it lasted me 6 months.

its not the starter, it always turns over, just does not always start

Yeah, I know. As did mine for 6 months before it crapped out. Let me guess, it will crank a few times, sometimes a lot of times until it turns over? Your starter is going out. Or you can just wait for it to not start anymore, then replace the starter and then tell us it was the starter all along.

If there is no clicking (starter), then it sounds like the fuel pump.

Does the long starting happen both/only when the 4runner is hot or cold?

well its either no fuel, bad spark,or starter not cranking fast enough.
1. Disconnect the fuel line going into filter and turn key if gas comes out check to see if you installed fliter the right direction. No fuel bad fuel pump
2. Make sure your getting spark to all spark plugs. If you have a timing light it helps alot just hook up to each wire and itll flash if theres spark not flash if no spark.
3. Change starter contacts.
