So i have a tint appointment and right now im kind of going for the blacked out look... but heres the thing!... ALL my back windows are 28% tint. The front two windows have no tint on them and I'm getting some (obviously) Should i go for 35% which would be pretty light but advised by the tint shop owned (said something about how it would look like im in a tunnel while driving with darker front ones?? anyone explain) Or should i jstu go for 20% which is what I want.. how big of a difference is 8%? Any pictures that people have? should i juts go for 35% and be safe..? Thanks in advance!!!:toilet3:

If you want "blacked out" you will not be happy with 35%.

I think you should do:
1. 15% on rears and 5% on fronts
2. 5% all around

Depending on the Brand of tint, it may not color matching your factory glass.

I have 3M & it has a hint of green...me no like.

HB 4x4 has Formula One (brand of tint) & he said it matches.

I have 35%, I wished I got 20%...want more privacy.

20% will match better, because since you have light coming from the windshield, it'll make it lighter.

At 20% though, it'll be tough parallel parking at night when it's raining.

You'll be fine through a tunnel.

I wish the 4Runner did NOT coming w/ Factory Treat Glass...this way I can tint everything 20% and it'll match.

You will not be able to see out of your windows at all come night come. Go with 20% all the way around. Its dark up front and black in the back but you can still see out of the front windows at night time. IMO I DO NOT ADVISE 5% TINT ON THE FRONT WINDOWS.

Well I cant get that dark as 50% is the limit in Ohio :O so my options would be 35% on front with the 28% on back.. or 20% on front with 28% on back.. dont have the cash on me atm to get the whole car re tinted. :(

I agree don't get 5% on front windows...remember u already have privacy glass in the back so take that into account...

I dont plan on getting anything lower than 20%. I'm only tinting the front two windows. Im content with the 28% on the rear. (odd number) Would 20% for extra privacy on front look weird because its darker than back? or should i be safe an just get 35% on the front two so its lighter on front rather than darker.. ?

Ur 25% rear is darker than that bcuz of the privacy glass...so maybe 20% should be good..just have the installer hold it up to the glass before applique..

Hey man listen to me! Alot of these people are old folks who are anti fun ;) haha, I recently got all my windows tinted! I got my rear window 5% and it is dark as f***! During the day I can see perfectly out, people cannot see crap inside. And at night I cant see ****! I have to roll down my window if I am backing up. For my passenger windows I got 20%, those are perfect! Very difficult to see in and easy to see out at night. Here's the thing... I had to legally get 35% in the front but I wish I would have gone somewhere else to get 20% in the front. I'm an idiot, and wasted my money. 35% still let's in too much light and heat and people can look straight at me while I'm picking my nose....jk haha. But go for the 20% up front and rear seats. As for the rear, 5% at night you can still see the car headlights and it's fine, the problem is backing up! When people flash their high lights at you... It's a joke haha. Hope this helped, and take a look at my album just so you can see the windows.

Good luck

You will be fine with 20%. It's not too dark, and is definitely not blacked out.

5% isn't as bad as people make it out to be. However, since your state legal limit is 50% I would not go this dark. The cops would probably be all over you.

I went 5% front and back. I also got 35% on the windshield and its great. Total privacy and I see perfectly fine during the day, sometimes I have to lower my window when parallel park at night but driving is just fine.

I've just seen so much tint come through our dealership and it always looks bubbled, cracking, or just plain odd compared to the privacy glass.
