Need help! 4Runner died

Hey guys need some input from the pros.

So went to the park today to workout my dog and when I went back to my truck, it wouldn't start. No clicking, just the following lights were flickering:
Ebrake light
Oil light
Battery light
A/T Oil Temp
Check Engine
RSCA OFF
VSC OFF
ABS

Cabin lights worked every few minutes or so. Got the door dinging with the key in the ignition. Headlights didn't work.

My GF came and we hooked onto her car for 10-15 minutes and it didn't change anything. Still wouldn't start. Luckily she was able to tow me home.

Anyone have any guesses? I know if i can get it to an autozone or advanced auto i can have them test the battery and alternator, but that'd require a tow truck which would be a pain. Figured I'd check to see if this has happened to anyone or if anyone has any suggestions before I go that route.

Are you still getting power to everything like radio and can you turn on the air conditioning ? If so smack the starter a few times and see if it will turn over. Happened to my friends ford (I know its a Toyota but doesn't hurt to try right?) Hers seems to have had the same problem you're explaining. Wouldn't start, no clicking, lights and ac worked though and a jump wouldn't help either.

I'll check that too. Seems weird for it to be my starter. I've never had any issues with it turning over. I did splice in some Baja Designs fog lights a month or two ago to the original foglight wiring. Not sure if that's related.

Having it happen so suddenly would lead me to the starter/solenoid as well.

You can pull the battery and have it tested at autozone. Pretty sure they can bench test the alternator too if you feel like hassling with pulling it out. Not too bad on the V6, not sure about the 8. Sounds like a dead battery to me and if it's super toast even jumping it won't make a difference. Had the same thing happen to my buddy's Jetta. I couldn't get it charged enough to start and I even have a 240a so it's pushing a few more volts than the 130a.

I wouldn't rule out a bad battery either. This happened to me a couple of months back. Everything on the dash came on as normal, radio worked but would not start. No noise, nothing. tried jumping it with the wifes car but it didn't help. I just happened to have a spare optima that I was about to sell and wala, it started right up.

Don't blast me on this but this has happened to me on later models. Does the 08 require you step on the brake before starting? If so look at the brake switch.

clean your battery terminals? is the rear wiper cycling when you try to turn it on? if so, battery is a goner. maybe getting enough trough to power the auxiliary components but not enough to kick the starter solenoid over?

Sorry for the delay, been out of town. So I ended up pulling the battery, bringing it to Advanced Auto. They tested it, found that it was bad and sold me a new one. I installed and it started up. After running for a bit I turned it off and tried starting it again. It hesitated at the start up so I drove back to Advanced Auto and they tested the Starter and Alternator as well. Turned out the Alternator was shot and blew out my battery. Bought a new alternator and spent 2 hours, about 2 inches of skin and 3 beers to get it installed.

Thanks for all the input out there. The big thing that led me to believe it was the battery was how it was reacting when I did anything using electrical. It was very subdued and tired. Hopefully this helps someone else out
