Need help diagnosing blower / AC issue.

96 4runner recently replaced all the wiring behind the dash. Unsure if it worked before. The blower isn’t coming on at all and pressing the AC button the light doesn’t come on. This is not an area I know at all so any help would be appreciated

First off, why was there a necessity to replace all the wiring behind the dash? Did the vehicle catch fire? Have you checked the fuse for the AC?

Did you replace it the same as it was?

First check your A/C and HEATER fuses. Rewiring frequently blows fuses due to shorts or other boo-boos. If fuses are good, verify what's going on at the heater relay? Do you have continuity at the contacts and power and ground to the coil?:

HEATER RELAY
(2) 1- (2) 2 : CLOSED WITH IGNITION SW ON AND BLOWER SW ON
(2) 1-GROUND : ALWAYS APPROX 12 VOLTS
(2) 5-GROUND : APPROX. 12 VOLTS WITH IGNITION SW AT ON POSITION
(2) 4-GROUND : ALWAYS CONTINUITY

That will tell you what to do next.

I thought I had checked all fuses and they were good. I’ll doible check.

I just completed an 2wd auto to 4x4 manual swap and it was worth it to replace all the wiring behind the dash instead of wiring in the clutch pedal, clutch start cancel, and the last connector for the ECU.

Here is your '96 EWD:

I replaced a different harness but every plug went back where it was. I will double check the fuses but the other day when I just cranked over the engine they were.

96 body, 97 harnesses. All plugs went where they should

I just compared the '97 EWD to the '96 I posted. Identical, including Pin numbers. You're good.

Use a meter or test light on those fuses. Don't just look at them.
