need help. how to polish glass headlights?

here is a before and after, i could probably still go at it a lot longer and get it tons better, right now even though the pics dont really say so, it looks about as clear as the passenger side. good enough for me!

silverbullet thanks for the offer on the glass lens, that was a killer price. i just really really dont want to take those things apart again lol. but hold onto it i gotta see this thing in the sunlight and see if it is to my liking.

Looks good man, love how that looks with the LED strip in there. Would you suggest using this on my original headlight? My driver side one is still the original one, the passenger side has been replaced twice (most recently, a couple months ago) , so there's a visible difference in the 2 month old one and 9 year old one. I might trying this cerenium stuff; how much did it cost you?

it should work, you may want to spend more time on it then i did though, what does it look like out of curiosity? mine are both still pitted somewhat. they are clear but as for looking brand new up close you can see all the damage from mother nature on both of them. and that case this stuff just poilshed the scratches out. it says on the instuctions that it can be used to get everything out but its probably going to take a long time. I took me a whole drill batery to get those scratches out and thats the only reason i stopped is cause i didn't have any more juice and this process makes a huge mess.

Be sure to mask stuff off really good and block the overspray from getting everywhere

for anyone interested you can order full OEM replacement light assemblies for $40 per light on ebay. these are glass stock replacements based on the 99 light.

no i was an idiot and during my retrofit build i wanted to get rid of the pits in my lens to make them even better so i took one of those headlight restoration kits and wet sanded the crap out of one side and it effed it up bad. lol the whole story is on the 1st page but yeah dont use those for glass.

Looks soo sick man!! I love what you did with the lights. Think you'll be stepping up to a custom bumper soon? It would complement the rest of your truck very nicely. Your truck reminds me of a pretty modded '07 Tacoma that I saw on the road today:

And when it's nicer out tomorrow I'll get up a pic of my headlight differences since there's such a difference in the age of each.

thanks man! gosh i dream of having a custom bumper every day! haha that, and having a nice 3 inch lift. i cant wait for day! but yeah the tacoma is where i got my idea kinda. that thing looks sick! i dont see too many people dong retrofits around here for trucks like that. but yeah i for sure didn't want any thing too fancy

yeah i may be able to help thats crazy that the old ones are so different. the cerium just may work though. shoot those pics over when you can though and ill see if i can find any info on the cerium being able to fix it.
