Need Help - Low Beams Dead

Hello Everyone. I am really frustrated and need some help. I have been running the Xenon Depot HID kit for about 8 months trouble free. A few days ago, I noticed my passenger light wasn't working. I spoke to Xenon Depot and they said I needed to test some things to determine where the problem was. I unhooked the ballast off the working side and moved it over. Nothing....I switched it back over to the good side and now neither lights work. Great. I decided I needed to have some lights so took everything out and put the OEM lights back in. Nothing. I decided well maybe I touched the OEM bulbs and they were bad so I bought a new set. Nothing. I checked and switched out both 10A fuses under the hood. Nothing. I just got back from the dealership with a new relay switch for the fuse box. Nothing. When I turn the stalk in the truck, the green indicator lamp comes on show the lights are on and the internal lights dim as normal - but no lights.


I am at a loss here folks. Every other light works just fine in the car. Fogs, daylight, turn, high beam.

It's a 2018 Premium with 22K on it. I am really hoping these HID's didn't do something stupid to my truck. Any advice, or is it dealership time?

Did you check the 10A fuses, that you took out initially, to see if they were in fact blown? Either visually or with an multimeter?

Did you put the new fuses in before or after you switched back to the stock halogen bulbs?

You could also try disconnecting the battery for a while to let the computers reset. This might be a long shot but electrical gremlins seem to creep up more frequently in vehicles these days.

Well I'm an idiot. I was looking at the wrong fuses and noticed both were blown when identified. Now the question is, do I put these HID's back in or will this happen again? I did some research when I bought them, and did NOT install the battery relay to them. What causes a HID to blow a fuse after 8 months?

There are lots of examples on this site of people who had no problems, with aftermarket HID kits, then all of a sudden one day started having problems.
I would suggest replacing the blown fuses and seeing if your stock halogen bulbs work.
If they do, and you still want to use an HID kit, why not considering trying the relay harness?
The initial draw when you power on the ballasts is what puts the most strain on the stock components of the vehicle. The harness alleviates that strain.
I do not claim to be an expert in anyway but have always used wiring harnesses for any aftermarket HID kit and never had issues with any stock components on a vehicle.

Sorry to hear this, glad you figured out it was the fuse.

Question, did you run a 35w or 55w ballast? I’m unfamiliar what XD’s offerings are at this time.
