need help trouble shooting my 97 4 runner

my 4 runner starts good an idles til engine warms up then it dies like you turn off key i have replaced fuel filter fuel pressure regulator timing belt plugs an wires fuel pump relay i want to replace ignition control module but i do not know where it is but do not know if i am going in right direction any ideas out there

Is the check engine light coming on and giving a code, like ignitor circuit malfunction?

it is saying po302 cylinder 2 misfire detected probable bad connection i gather now

If this started after replacing the timing belt, I would look for a broken tooth on the crankshaft gear, If not, I would disconnect the battery, remove the ECM, and open it up for a visual inspection. I just went through this with my 96 camry and found a blown electrolytic capacitor. At less than a dollar to replace the capacitor, I wish I had gone here first. Turns out the average life on electrolytics is 18 years. If you are not familiar with electronics, google bad capacitors so you know what to look. Make sure to look at the tops and bottoms for any bulging or leakage.

fixed problem by buying rebuilt engine old engine had 282 thousand it needed it
