Need help. What is this hose?

Anyone know what this small hose is that’s hanging next to the connector on the
transfer case? Comes from the top and is just dangling. Is it just a vent tube?
Or is it supposed to be hooked to something? First time I’ve noticed it while
looking for my 4lo light blinking and beeping problem.

Looks like one of the breathers for the transmission. Look around the transmission and you should see where it goes. You are 4wd so you will have another breather line and if I remeber correctly they both "T" up near the transfercase area.

Transfer Case/ Transmission breather tube, just let it hang there. if you drive you 2+ feet of water on a daily basis you can extend them, but otherwise leave it be

I'd have to crawl back under my rig to check but I'm pretty sure that's the breather for the T-case actuator. That should be connected to a little plastic nipple on the "top" as it's sitting. I don't think you can see it from below so maybe feel around and see if you can locate it (or where it used to be).

When I was working on mine several months back I seem to remember it started at the actuator then ran over to the t-case body (metal fitting) then kept going to the transmission and finally up into the engine bay. I think the front diff has it's own separate line.
