Need help with interior

I need some help. I went camping with the 4runner and experienced a bad storm and some unusual circumstances. To make a long story short, I ended up with a wet, muddy interior; I am worried about my seats and carpet, they are soaked and are already smelling like mildew. Will shampooing alone take the smell out or is there some better way? Any suggestions to take the smell and stains out would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi There,

I had a similar problem with water in the interior, (4wding in a lot of mud, and getting in and out, then subsequent waterblasting of said mud!)

I found my carpet was quite wet, and the seats also.

I took a portable house hold dehumidifier, ran an extention lead, and put it in the car for 48 hours with the doors and windows all sealed. It dried out the nicely, and the smell went away.

Once everything was dry, the mud vaccumed out easily.

Hope that helps some!

Thanks for the suggesstion. I do not have a dehumidifier, but I might go buy one, it is worth the try to help my 4runner. Thanks again!
