Need help with Lift/Level for front

I have searched and read just about every thread regarding the rake and leveling these 4runners out. I just want to level it with a slight rake left. I don't offroad, this is just cosmetic. I have taken measurements and I have 2 1/4" difference on the driver side and 2 1/2" difference on the passenger side. I was thinking just a 1 inch lift and here is why. When I measure the running boards, there is only 1" difference. If I raise the front any higher, the running boards will be further off the ground in the front, than they are in the rear. I don't want to remove them either.

What do you recommend? I saw the Toytec, but can't find it on their website, where it's a 1/2 inch spacer giving 1" of lift. I also have looked into the Daystar 1"lift. But looking at that spacer, it appears to me to be a 1" spacer, so does the daystar kit KT09117BK actually lift the front 2". I don't want to go to a Daystar 2.5/1.5 because I just bought new tires and went with the factory size and I think that much lift would not look right, plus, I really only want to level it, not raise it.

Opinions?

You're right on the lift amounts. I'd go with the toytec, chaz have you the link. It will give you the 1"you're looking for.

Just to give you an idea of the look, here is the Bilstein 5100 set at 1.75 inch lift front, stock rear. It only gave me about 1.25 inches of actual lift. It looks good with stock diameter tires. I started with the same rake measurements you did. I now have a 1.25 inch difference front to back.

Yeah, that looks good to me. I think i will go with the toytec. I never got an answer from Daystar if their lift was 1" or 2". But the pics of the budget lift components look thicker, so I was thinking the poly bushing is 1" creating a 2" lift, and that would be too much.

Correct. Daystar 1" is 1" thick giving you 2" of lift. You end up with the running board being a bit higher in the front

Daystar will tell you that their budget boost kit give 1". They fail to comprehend that you get more than that on the 4runner. That kit gives 2" of lift.

Thanks, I failed to see where you confirmed my suspicion to begin with. Thanks for the information. I am going to go with the toytec. I found a used one by a member here on the forum in my area. If he doesn't have it still, I will just order a new one. They aren't that bad anyway, except for the shipping.

I have a 1" block on mine and it's actually about 2" lift (nothing in back) and the running boards are within 1/8" up front and still just a hare lower in the front than the rear at the fenders

That makes me wonder if the running boards are adjustable. Mine definitely only have 1" difference stock.

You also have to remember that if you're sitting within 1/2" of level on the running boards, are you really going to see that? You're usually looking from an angle from above and really won't see any difference unless it's pretty big.

Another thing to consider is that when you lift the front, the running boards won't raise up quite as much as you lift. If you lift the front 1.5", the front part of the running board may only raise 1". Those aren't even close numbers, but gives you an idea.

my wife bought a 1.5" thick aluminum coil spacer and i dont want to have to touch the rear of my T4R. will the truck sit level after i install this or do i need to buy a 1.0" thick spacer instead? i'm running 265/70/17 (32") Geolander ATS tires on 17" sport rims on a 2007 T4R 4x4 V6 SR5.

You'll get twice that in lift, so that spacer would give 3". You will want a .5"-1" thick spacer if you're not going to touch the rear.

Installed the lift about a week or so ago. Looks great and I couldn't be happier with the Toytec topout spacer. In my opinion, it added the perfect amount of lift. Will add some pics soon.

Rick,
So you installed the 1/4" toytec spacer? How much lift did that give you? 1/2"?
Ive been wanting to level out my 2006 4runner, but im worried that the daystar 1" spacer will bring the front end higher than the rear.

It's a half inch spacer giving 1" of lift.
