need help with my lift, 3"/2" revtec Rubbing BAD

Hey guys. I have recently traded in my 2014 tacoma for a 2015 sr5 4runner. I had the vehicle lifted and the tires are rubbing horrible. I have a 3/2" revtech lift with 275/18 tires. I've seen the exact same set up on multiple 4runners and can't figure out why I'm having so much trouble. I was guessing the offset is wrong but the guys I'm dealing with are trying to assure me they're not. They're saying my two options are to shave my bumper (dont really want to do that as i just spent 40k on this thing" or put smaller tires on it. The tires they want me to put on there look like they'd fit if the 4runner wasnt lifted. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT

where is it rubbing? Body Mount? Fender Liner? Mud flap?

Ok by looking at the Wheel Offset Chart

Your 18x9 wheels with a +12 offset puts you at 5.5" of backspace. Stock 4 Runner wheels even though there stock 17's have a backspace of 4.5" SR5/TRD Pro and Limited and 4.875" TE. I believe the happy place for the 4Runner is between 4-5" of backspace so basically the offset range of -25 to -6 offset with a 9" wide wheel. So your optimal range offset I'd say is -19,-12, -6. To me I think if you had a 18x9 with -12 offset at 4.5" backspace you'd be good to go. So you have the right size tires, you just have a little too much backspace.

I ran a 285 with 18s and almost 6" of backspacing. Other than the usual fender liner mod I was good to go.

I think the OP potentially has the -12 offset which is causing the tire to stick out more and is cutting into the front bumper. I've taken into consideration the tire size is actually taller than 33". It's also possible that the tire is rubbing the liner and not the actual bumper itself. I also have a 2011 LE with an even worse approach angle to the bumper.

Something isn't adding up. Need more info.

I'm at a loss then, My Jedi wheel and offset game is weak haha, but I agree we need pictures of where it is rubbing. Could be a simple fender liner mod or could be a possible BMC needed. Def need pictures of where the rubbing is

I have a 3inch revtech lift on my as well. im sporting 285 70 17, i had minor rubbing on my rig. shaved some fender, and removed the front mud flaps, problem was solved. i also have an offset. you wont be able to tell if you shave some of the liner.

It really is pretty minor and only takes 10 or 15 minutes.

$40k truck or not, if you're experiencing rubbing, you need to trim. Bumper, liners, body mount....just cut stuff until the rubbing stops.

If its rubbing on the front bumper that is an easy fix. When I installed my KM2's I moved the liner forward and still got rubbing on the front bumper. A straight razor blade will cut through the bumper material to trim the edge back just fine. I took off 1/8-1/4" and no one would know unless you were comparing photos of before and after. A heat gun softened it up and made it much easier to trim but I also did some final trimming cold and that worked ok just tougher.

I had the exact same lift for a few weeks w/ 275/70 Toyo open country MT's. I hated the lift, it rode horrible, my 4Runner Leaned to the right, and it rubbed badly. Luckily the body shop gave me a refund on the lift and I went with the Toytec boss... And I've had no issues since then..

I'm running the same lift but with 265's. I dont remember what back spacing revtech recommended but if you call them they will tell you. I would do some looking into it before you do a bunch of cutting.
