Hey I have a RN130 with a 22R and it won't engage in 4wd any ideas

Can't you move the stick on the transfer reverse, or does it not lock the transfer if you put it in 4wd?
Do you have manual hubs in front or flanges?
Sorry, I'm not that familiar with RN130 but I suppose it's the same transfer I got for my extra low gears...

its a 1989 first of the full body (as in not fibre glass) with a 22r, manual. it has auto locking hubs, with the button on the on the gear stick. when you push the button nothing happens.

BUT, if it's an electric switch on the shifter, I'd go for measuring the wires behind that switch.
Check the vacuum stuff in the hood aswell. In the ADD there's a vacuum that locks one of the front axle.
Is there an electric motor in the transfer that puts it in 4wd? If it's so you can hear wether the motor is working or not.
Also, have you checked weather it tries to engage in the 4wd or not? Push the button and try to spin the front propeller shaft, see if it's locked or not.

Again not familiar with this unit. Is there an actuator on the front diff. Over here it is operated by avcuum. You can switch hoses to see if that works. Give it a tap with a hammer to see if it is slightly seized. Our ADD system has a solenoid under the dash that clicks when engaged. I listen for that when engaging.

Hey Guys thanks for the help i had a look and i believe that i have found the problem as there is power to and from the switch but there is no power coming out of the "computer 4wd control" so i think it is broken.
I have included a picture of my button which engages 4wd for refferrence.

It has ADD (Automatic Driveshaft Disconnect).
The front left drive shaft is connected/disconnected from the diff via vacuum.
If the drive shaft does not connect the light wont come on.
It could be a vacuum problem,
