So, here's the deal... I started a thread way back in October about this and thought it was over, but the saga continues.
A while back I had a serpentine belt replaced but the mechanic who put it on routed the belt incorrectly. Here's a link to my original post.

Then, about 3 weeks, I took my runner in to have the pedal mod. While it was in the bay, the toyota tech decided to look it over. He called me back to show me what he found... The serpentine belt sill routed incorrectly! And had cut its way into the thermostat housing and nearly cut a bolt in two. I was astonished. They said they could fix it, so I made an appointment and had them fix it.
About a week and a half later (but only about 50 miles or so) on my way home from work, the belt began to break. I was able to limp for about 2 miles home. Called the service department and they said to bring it back. I took it back, but when I got there power steering fluid was all over the engine bay and the power steering was going in and out.
They replaced the belt, but left the power steering pump whining and cutting in and out.
Now.... here is where the trouble BEGINS... I had the ps pump replaced (by a third mechanic) and on my way home from picking that up, the belt begins to shred yet again! Now add to that, my oil light was flickering. I checked the oil, and was low so I topped it off.
Service department at toyota was already gone for the day, so I called them today. They told me to bring it back in. As I was driving it back to them, the belt snapped completely... I was prepared for that as a possibility... I saw a parking lot and coasted in. The engine temp spiked immediately. I stopped the vehicle, cut the engine, and stepped out to see oil leaking everywhere. Called a tow truck to have them take it on in, and told them to give the bill to the dealership.
Things are not looking good for the ole' runner right now.
Any thoughts, advice opinions? Help me out here... I'm desperate.
