need help with weird engine issue

ok, I know a lot of people disappear after they get their car running but I like closure as do a lot of people that do forum searches for answers.

so I printed up a bunch of stuff from the FSM I found online for testing sensors and had my torque app ready to read sensor outputs as well.

got home. cranked it up and sprayed about another half can of carb cleaner all over the friggin place looking for leaks and couldn't find anything. shut it down.

pulled the air intake and MAF and ohm'd it and it checked ok. looked inside with a flashlight and saw it was dirty so I hit the sensors with cleaner.

moved on to the TPS. couldn't test it as the FSM had it with 4 wires and the truck's had 3. weird. moved to the IAC, ohm'd it and it was good. moved to the ECT sensor and it ohm'd good.

ok, all the easy stuff was done so I looked in the t-body and it was definitely 100% closed. all the cables to it were slack as well so nothing holding it open.

pulled the t-body off and removed the IAC. looked inside and noticed the flapper was stuck at halfway and wouldn't really move with a screwdriver. aha! hit it with cleaner from both sides and started working it with the screwdriver. it started freeing up so I kept hitting it with cleaner and flicking the flapper inside with the flatblade screwdriver until I could get the flapper to open completely and then flap itself completely closed effortlessly. re-used the original 250k t-body gasket and pulled/cleaned the rubber IAC gasket and put it all back together and cranked it up.

immediately settled to a nice 750rpm idle. purrs like a kitten. it was still half warm when I did all this so I'll wait until tomorrow to start it back up cold and confirm that it has cold idle to warm idle transmission.

anyway, glad to be getting this thing out of my driveway tomorrow hopefully lol.
