Need Help

I cant decide how I want to do my gas tank on my 2nd gen. I hate where it sets from the factory and i want to move it. Just dont know where and dont know if i want to get a new style tank or reuse the old one. Any one moved theirs and what tank did you use?

Ford tanks seems to be the preferred choice for relocating to the spare tire cavity.

but what ford tank because i found quite a few i thought would fit till i measured and also the fuel pumps dont match up in gph and psi for pressure.

Check Summit Racing, Jeg's, or Jaz Products for fuel cells of numerous configurations, and put it where the spare (under the back, behind the rear axle) goes...pumps and lines would be easy to locate and run...problem solved

And the senders won't match, either. You'll have some work to do if you plan on using a Ford tank as your primary.

I'm planning on using an 18 gallon square tank from a 99 f150, I think is what I found that'll fit in my cavity. Depending on how you're going to mount it and where exactly, you may have to poke around like I did, just look at different stuff and do a lot of measuring. Or have a hotrod shop build you a custom tank.
