Need immediate assistance and suggestions

I am currently trying to remove the cv bearing on drivers side with east coast gear supply's tool. The tool does not fit. I been tryin to get it behind the bearing for the past 6 hours and not having any luck. I have followed the video and other write ups. I shaved it down some but it did not help. When inserted into the groove behind the bearing, the other end only angles in half way down the bearing and there is no tapping that in. I have used a magnet to fish it in and tried many different angles to no avail. Some of the bearings are starting to fall from the abuse.

I need to get the truck on the road asap and did not epect this to take this long.

Any suggestions on how to get this bearing out?

If I remember correctly I put mine in at a 45degree angle until the near side as past the bearing. Then with the one side pressed firmly against the bearing thread the bolt in and slowly suck the plate flat. After that everything should go as per the instructions. It is very tight in there so some resistance is normal

Thanks but that did not work. I got the rod threaded in but no amount of pulling or prying could get the tool flat
It is just not in far enough as like my grooves are not deep enough.

Another way is to rent a reverse jaw puller with threaded rod or a slide hammer.

I had the same issue. ECGS told me to remove material from the T-nut end of the tool to make it fit. Let me get on my phone and I'll post some pics in a few minutes.

Here are pics of how I modified that shitty "tool" ECGS sells. Even after doing all this I had to "just tap it in" hard enough that it broke part of the bearing race off (you can see it in the second picture), but that bastard came out, finally. Getting the bushing back in is a whole different exercise in profanity...

That is exactly what I had to do and also broke the bearing as well. It took 2 hours to pound the new one in and it is a tight fit for the axle.

edit: i recommend replacing this bearing if you are tackling the lower control arm bushings otherwise it will be a swear-festival of very sore wrists.
