Need more articulation

So, I'm real happy with my current setup. I worked it pretty hard this weekend though spending alot of time on 2 wheels. It looks like I am shock limited in the droop department. Has anyone come up with relocated upper shock mounts to add longer rear shocks?

Coming from a Locked F&R Jeep, I'm just amazed at how well Toyota tuned the Trac control to perform like soft lockers. I am going to add an ARB to the rear though since the TRAC tends to make you slide off too many obstacles with its ON-OFF nature.

Let me know how you took yours to the next step to get better flex.

Bulldog wrote a great article. I did not read the whole thread...but could you fit the FJ Cruiser front sway bar into the 4runner's IFS??

One question...i was told long time ago that your shocks should NEVER be the limiting factor in suspension travel. That is, the shock should not be the one holding your tires (in drooping) or be the bumpstop (in compression). Is this still correct? I see a lot of Toyota owners using the shocks as the limiting factor.

you would be correct as far as my knowledge goes thai, and that is EXACTLY why they make limiting straps


if you are already running 285's then I suggest you just lock it, and armor the under belly, a locked vehicle will go just about anywhere. i drag across everything because of how low my truck is, but the a-trac on the 3rd gens works fairly well, still no substitute for a real locker though.
