It's about that time. I really want a good on road off road...the general grabber at2 is the front runner at the moment. Anybody in northern california recommend a place?

I've heard good things about the grabber at2. Just got a set of cooper discoverer at3. Quite happy with them, though i have yet to see the rebate i sent away for...

I've been gun shy about rebates or anything mail away. With everything being easily accessible online these days the only reason it needs to be mailed in is to delay or prevent your refund.

I need a new set of tires also. But I need highway/on road tires. I'm currently using Cooper Discoverer LSX's, which this is my 2nd set of. Bad experiences with Goodyear tires, and I really don't want to spend the money on Michelins. Has anyone had good or bad experiences with Yokohama, Toyo, Nitto, BF Goodrich, or any others?

Coopers are good from what I hear. I'm a Goodyear guy, never had a problem with them got 60,000 on my first set of MTR (originals) and now I'm with the duratracs, absolutely love them and if you live where you get snow or wet roads, you can't. Beat the performance. Tires are like everything else, so times a few bad ones sneak out. When your dealing with 100,000 + in production you just can't inspect them all, so you batch test! this doesn't mean some bad ones get to the consumer. Also you get what you pay for, GY, has tires for the economy minded individual and quite simply you won't be happy.

Look at the weather and road conditions around your area, and buy accordingly, prices have increased over the years so expect to pay 600-1200 for a set of average 4runner tires.

Schwab is a decent place for tires imo. I believe you guys have that. I run the grabber at2 and I love them although they are fairly heavy for tires. It could just be the size I got too. Lots better ride than bfg imo. I have run 3 sets of bfg at tires too.

AT2's are great tires. I had a set on my Z71 chevy pickup.
Quiet, great in the snow, good aggressive look and traction on and off road. Cant speak to longevity as I didnt have the truck very long after, but they were good tires and i would buy them again (and probably will in the next year)
