Ok. Long story short. I have has trucks since my first vehicle. F150. 3 F250's, a Excursion 7.3. Was a diesel nut. Don't tow much at all anymore. Got a work plow truck so that helps. Loved the hell out of my 5 Jeeps (1 XJ 2YJ's and 2 TJ's.) listened to now wife and got a 97 4Runner. Fell in love don't know what I was missing. Grew up in my moms SUVS (2 Jeep XJ's a Grand Cherokee and Lincoln Navigator which I took my driver test in.) let's say I love everything. Change what I drive a lot. And I LOVE my new Runner. I'm one month away from a year owned and at 18,300 miles. Wife has had many toyotas. Loves Tacoma. Had all Generations. Loves the new ones. I hated. It has grown on me. She at the moment has a 2015 Tacoma TRD sport access cab which I did up nice. Let's say I like it as much as anything else I have. Has 21,000 miles.
She wants. And as anyone with a wife knows, she will I'm sure end up getting the new 2017 model. Would be a 2017 TRD sport again all white. Misses full 4 door as main issue. Probably get a 4 door long bed. I'll re level the front end and keep simple with her favorite wheels red off what she has now. She loves sunroof and would love the creature comforts. Mine has them, I just want AC and not roll up windows haha. Although I like being spoiled. I drove my rusty jeeps anywhere everywhere highways u name it weather and all.
Option A we trade in her Tacoma, get the new and I keep my runner.
Option B we trade in my Runner which is worth much more money on trade. We are both well ahead of our payments. She owes 6k maybe. I owe maybe 20k on Runner. If we trade my Runner in I take her Tacoma.
I do love it. Much less cool features which I really never use. We do not have or plan on kids. Have 2 dogs. I ride my bikes to work mainly or drive which isn't far. I deff could use a truck more more than SUV. Only time using all seats is rare little times, but I'm the control freak who always drives groups or not. I mountain bike a ton so ride 3+ times a week normally. Even winter if not bad. Ride dirt bikes, transport bikes also. Low bed height I do love on it. Occasional towing both would do fine, Tacoma does feel more solid longer WB and leaf springs rear. 90% what I do. Tacoma would work fine and I do love it. Never use my heated seats. Never have more than us 2 anyway. When I do long highway trips we used runner but, her truck well just take now. If I kept Tacoma I would consider a cap to keep somewhat classy and not have to clean back like I do runner... Or just a roll up cover to keep dry and use hitch more.
Sorry Kong post. Brains smoking on better option. Tacoma I have setup with 5100's all stock. .85" front so it's level. I would throw my 17's and BFG's on it with hopes they fit and probably look awesome. Trading in whatever as close to stock as I can. Her Tacoma also has TRD exhaust and filter because why not!
