Current set up is Icon CO's with 650# springs. I want to keep the CO's and just swap the coils. I have the V8 also.
Getting ready to install a Pelfreybilt 3 loop and a new winch with steel cable. Roughly 200#'s total.
Currently have Dobinsons c59-599 coils in the rear. Gives roughly a 1" lift in rear.
Truck currently has a slight rake so after I install the bumper and winch I know it will have a pretty bad rake. The CO's have roughly 3/4" they could be adjust before they hit the max preload recommendation per Icon. If I do that it will ride like a logging truck. Not something I am interested in.
Icon 700# coils are 14" long instead of the 13" long with the current 650# so that will help a little with the lift. $250 per pair
King 700# coils are 14" also $175 per pair
Dobinsons 730# coils are 15" $175 per pair
Dobinsons 586# coils are 16" $175 per pair
Can anyone give me advice on which ones to get? I am leaning towards one of the Dobinsons but can't make up my mind. I know the 586# ones would compress more just sitting there but are 1" taller so I am thinking the pre-load would be the same as the 730# ones. Does that make sense?
My hesitation on the 586# is nose dive. Would nose dive at braking be terrible with the 586#?
I have 10 ply tires so I know it's not gonna ride like a caddy but also don't want to add to the rough 10 ply's by maxing out pre-load.
