[Regarding Differentials]

OK so I did the front, rear and transfer case, I measured about 7Qts removed...
The color and smell was so good that I assume that the dealer I bought it from must have done the service. I cleaned the magnets(a little goop but nothing weird)

My method was to fill them till they were full or just barely below the fill hole.

Here is my question:
I bought 7Qts of Amsoil Sever gear but after the job I have just about 1 full quart left... I am told the job usually only takes 6.5Qts but I have 1/2 extra on top of that so my question is between the front, rear and transfer case is that still acceptable?

1/2 quart between the three of them is not that much...:ybrick:

Hmm, that's a little odd. But it sounds like you filled them up right and proper. We fill them to the fill hole, let some dribble out until its just a couple drips and seal it up.

I did this in my garage it should have darn near level surface.

I let it drip out until maybe 1 drop every 15sec so it should have been about dry (there are cavities I realize you cannot get all of it out)

I just finished the test drive all seems well... it should be smoother after a little breakin period.

Also on a strange note... this truck came from the beachy part of PA and I find sand and sea shells all the time so I know she was salty!

The bolts looked rusted up as hell but I broke them free without a hitch... I never prepped save my 3' breaker bar... and I never touched it.
(I only weight 135 so I know its not cuz my gorilla strength and half were done 1 handed)

I would fit it up and get ready for the fight but on my first brace I would crack it every time!?!

usually I have the opposite luck with bolts....

What beaches in PA? Its some of the "tourons" that come to Delaware beaches to ride, not fish, on surf. That will get vehicles banned from the sand. :dammit:

By the look of her rust and interior sand levels... also considering the SURF BOARD scars in the interior ... i would say case closed Watson!:peace:
