need some help .. hi clearance panels for the 2nd Gen

ok guys .. We need some input .

working on our hi-clearance panels for the 2nd gen 4Runner , and we need some input from owners , and what they might want ?

building a hi clearance 1/4r panel with a stock rear axle placement is going to be tough without major rear door modifications , we can't build a "true" hi clearance panel like this , but if we were to move the rear axle back 6-8" , enhancing departial angle and COG .. HHMmmm

really interest in your thoughts ...

If you made a panel that would move the rear axle back 6-8", would you also sell a lift kit or long arm rear links that would move the axle back? I may be wrong but the people that would fabricate their own suspension would also fabricate their own panels or just cut what they have. Just a thought.

If you made a high clearance panel for the 1st gen that moved the rear axle back 6-8" about 6 months ago, I would have bought a set before I came to terms with selling my 4runner.

Now that you mention it, I do recall not being able to find larger flares for that very reason. Hadn't thought of that with the custom quarter panels. What about tying it into the door with a two-piece design? I'm just concerned about moving everything back such a large distance--I'll have to check mine to see, but won't that cause some problems with frame placement for suspension mounts, plus putting more stress on the very rear of the frame (some of us have rear leafs, with spring hangers on the rear as well as the front, unlike the factory 4-link)? I wonder if that would necessitate serious frame mods to work. Plus, on a lesser note, how would that affect the aesthetics of the body styling--would it make it look "weird", in other words? The thing that has always drawn me back to the 2nd Gen's is the body styling. I can see I'll be out at the truck today with a tape measure (LOL)!

The fiberwerx one have NO higher wheel well, I just talked to them 3 weeks ago about them.
I trimmed mine up 2.75" and made some shape to them so they weren't just round.

this is more the direction we're thinking .. and YES , we're considering having a complete 4link , with the frame mods avaliable with it if you want ..
