So my 4Runner was making some rear end noise. I got under there this morning and found I just had to tighten down my rear shocks by the top nut (I don't think its that hard personally). I installed my rear set up in February and since then I have gone off road once (Broken Arrow last weekend in Sedona, AZ) and probably have done about 12-15000 miles. I also had to tighten the panhard bar. Anyway, no more noise and the truck feels tight again.
I did a full inspection and I am very pleased. All the rubber bushings seem to be in good condition, although I would like to get them done soon. No leaks. I have done quite a bit a work so far to make sure it is mechanically sound before I mod it too much. I like to go in steps; it is my daily driver after all.
The following pictures were my only concern. The first 5 are of my driver side front axle. It was covered in dry oil/dirt/grime etc. I inspected the rubber boots and they are fine. Is this build up normal? The passenger side was clean. I took my rag and wiped it all off as you can see in the pictures and will keep an eye on it. The last 2 pictures are the upper control arm joints. They seem in pretty bad condition. How quickly should I get these changed? I don't think I can tackle this one myself.
