Need Tire Size Help

Bought my 4Runner in 2015 and at the time, also purchased a complete Icon Stage 6 kit, which I haven't installed yet.

Fast forward to this week, 50K miles later, I need new tires and there's a nail in the side wall of one of the existing ones, making it become an urgency.

What is the largest size BFG KO2 All-Terrain that will fit with the existing factory suspension and not look too small when the Icon System in finally installed in the spring?

Bearing in mind that these tires will be my WINTER set. I have a 2nd set of rims that will get Mud Terrains for the Summer.

I had 275/70/17 installed at stock height with no rubbing. I have seen 285/70/17 installed with minimal adjustments to deal with rubbing. Good luck!

Your ICON suspension will make no difference in tire fitment. So whatever tire you can fit with the ICON is the same size you can fit now. That's just how IFS works. You're not changing the geometry or tire path as it cycles, just the starting point.

So... 285/70/17's fit with some trimming of the plastic parts on most 4runners. Larger than that will require more significant cutting. 275/70/17's are probably the largest that fit without trimming - but still might require front bumper trimming.

All 4runners are slightly different and the tire fit is just a little different on all of them. If you want to minimize cutting to fit - use factory wheels or wheels with factory offset. Wheels that stick out further mean more rubbing.

Not sure if this helps you but I am running 285s with 2.5in lift and 1.25 spacers and had to cut the bottom part of the front bumper a little as well as part of the front part of the wheel well. Also had to pull back the front mud flaps. Seems like a lot of work but it actually isnt.
